2019-2020 College/Draft thread IX (Knicks own #8 pick, 11/18 DRAFT) - Picking 8 who do you NOT want???

Lets continue the draft thread with an interesting idea. Since the last thread didn't even have a 20% consensus who you want the knicks to pick. Lets play the game of you would be your worst case scenario for the knicks picking at 8??? Who do you NOT want?

So for example who do you hate in this draft where it would be a remote thrower for you at 8?

None of those guys are remote throwers for me

From that list, I'd be happy with either Hayes or Haliburton, everyone else would be a differing degree of disappointed. Kira I guess I'd be happy-ish with.

Just don't like this draft class much.

Toppin. Stay the hell away. I'm kind of worried that he seems to be slipping to our range and he is a typical Perry pick. scouts are projecting him as a wing like Kuzma because of his measurements 220 pounds and 6'9. He's either going to be a big wing with crap perimeter skills or an undersized 4 that doesnt rebound or play defense but can do highlight dunks like Derrick Williams

I know there are some people that love the idea of what Poku could be, but that is probably the one pick where I turn off my TV and go for a long walk afterward.

I would want: Hayes, Kira or Vassel....

Maybe Okoro because of the ceiling

Maybe Obi because he is most game ready and they feel they can hide/improve the defense

Maybe Nesmith -f they feel he could be Klay 2,0

Maybe okongwu if they feel he is the best talent available.

The rest I would be disappointed with

I don't really see the upside with Okoro

Reminds me a lot of Miles Bridges.

I’m at the point I can live with any of them. I would love the Knicks to figure out a way to draft two of them.

I don't think Miles Bridges had anywhere the defensive upside Okoro has.

offensively I see some comparisons as both are good off ball cutters and slashers to the basket. I think Bridges was more advanced in terms of outside shooting but I do like Okoro to maybe push towards that secondary level ball handler more than Miles. But he's got a lot of work on the offensive end to do.

Dark horse, way-too-high pick:
Cassius Winston.

Definition of a gamer.
Some smart team is gonna pick him earlier than mocked.

Either that or some team is going to get a big steal in the 2nd round

Yea and Bridges is about to avg 20 ppg (13.6ppg, 5.6rbg this yr) next year and be an All Star in 22'. Should've taken Miles over Knox..stupid Knicks. And now a guy I've been asking for us two sign two yrs ago.. they want in Christian Wood... smh

Yup... Winston is a winner, Lowry lite.. maybe Lowry in a few years, great head on his shoulders and a hard work. A real floor general and leader. Unlike alot of the other PG's in this draft... he actually has an NBA handle, that creates space and separation(ex.Hizzy side step back three, one of Lillards favorite moves). Plus he has NBA range and shoots alot of 3's and hits them 43.5%. Will contribute right away to any NBA team if given playing time. Can't always reach for the 19/20 yr olds.. most of them don't pan out. Would love for us to pick him and have him battle DSJ and Frank. I think Thibs would love him. Can never have enough shooters.

He has shades of a lot of different guys. I see some Rafer Alston in his game, he's got some of that NYC streetball to his game. At times he also flashes some Rajon Rondo type of floor and tempo control and playmaking.

Overall I think he's going to be a really solid NBA PG. At the very least he's a really nice backup

Yeah I think I can tolerate all the other players somewhat besides Poku. He screams bust to me. Next Dragan Bender.

He definitely has a high bust potential. I'm not dead set against picking him but wouldn't do it at 8. 27, sure
