i don't think this matters for anything other than bruising trump's ego and for me that's enough

i mean i expect they will say it's fake anyway but still hilarious

my prediction, he says that china was watching biden

Oh it definitely doesn’t matter but I know it will piss off Trump and his supporters. The crazy thing is that he turned down a debate that would have gotten 60 million viewers for a townhall that got 10. Really idiotic except he would have been a disaster either way.

“It’s gold, Jerry. Gold!”

Just for the ability to throw it back at a Trump supporters face. What can they say back?

The thing is that there is a segment of voters that are more independent who supported him last time that this time may not and if the Dems are fired up enough to get out the vote then he may lose that slim margin he had to win the electoral college.

The truly unknown factor is how effective the GOP's effort to disenfranchise voters will be so suppress the counted ballots enough to steal away another election. The GOP is clearly targeting certain states for this effort to garner the EC votes to win and they don't really care about the popular vote.

Jinx be damned, I strongly feel this race is totally decided & over.

Yeah I say this cautiously but it feels like we’re watching a slow motion car wreck. Voting has already started and Trump and Republicans have managed to piss off a lot of voters with their suppression attempts and stealing the election. Think about it logically, Trump has been flailing at every attempt to turn this around this past few weeks. There are two weeks left and he’s not going to turn around his behavior anytime soon. Unless there is a much bigger base of Trump supporters out there I don’t see how this election turns around.

So what’s left other than suppression and out right cheating to steal the election?

Just as I predicted Trump would find an excuse to duck the rest of the debates, I predict he will resign between election day and the inauguration in order to collect his federal pardon if he can still work out a deal with Pence to get pardononed. It is possible Pence won't play ball though Trump's only remaining leverage over Pence would be komprommat and he probably does have that. If he can get a pardon he'll take it even if it means he is still screwed on the state level and he'll take his chances there.

He'll just take his chances trying to steal the election

He ain't stealing jackchit. This is not going to drag out until the end of the year. Trump and Barr are fcking maroons. If you haven't noticed, everything Barr has done to shield Trump's mafia from prosecution has crashed and burned spectacularly. Their ability to manipulate the legal system has been amateurish and they sure as heck are not going to get Democratic governors to cooperate on the electoral shenanigans.

Further, basic math will be able to call each state based on the margins already counted vs. the ballots not yet counted. In some states, Biden will be winning the popular vote by margins of 10-40% which means if a smaller proportion of ballots remain uncounted in those states will still be won even if they drag it out for a week or two.

As far as swing states in question, Trump will dance his chicken dance and the only people buying it will be MAGA fools. They are not stealing this via court rulings.

Trump will be looking for the exit and his pardon. He knows he's cooked. It will behoove him to get that pardon while it is available. There is no conceivable positive outcome for Trump to overcome his loss by dragging out the election results and even a delusional asshat like him knows he can't pull that off. The man is a quitter. He walks. That what he does when he knows he is not paying his tab and he knows he's not punching this victory ticket.

Why do you think he's not letting up on his white supremacist support? It's his ticket to media money running a MAGA media network. In Trump's mind those people are his ticket out of debt and he's working that crowd now because he expects to be out of the WH soon and pumping them for dollars. He's going to jail anyway, but that's the dice he's rolling now. He is not campaigning to win. He is campaigning to put food on the table after he loses.

Furthermore, the GOP is rapidly disengaging their space craft as Trump crashes to earth. Susan Collins is threatening to vote against Barrett in a last gasp effort to save your re-election chances. If the GOP already knows Trump is now dead weight, they are not going to carry his carcass over the finish line by particpating in a unified front in every state AFTER the election to try and deep six the results. Sure, they'll suppress and cheat however they can, but that is what they do irregardless of Trump, but the Trump Era is frigging OVER and the GOP is not going to try and resucitate this lifeless windbag after Nov. 3rd. Read the freaking tea leaves folks

Everybody that mattered in 2016 were cautiously optimistic that he would lose, but there were huge signs. The only alarm bell ( which is admittedly huge), is Biden not pulling away in swing states.

One of the biggest POS during this Trump era has been Mitt Romney. The guy postures against Trump whenever it is good for his political career. All that means is he's probably smarter than the hardcore MAGA politicians in seeing the future without Trump in the picture, but there is nothing about Romney that shows courage or a commitment to ethical behavior. All he has done is make the occasional marker so he can say he opposed Trump, but by and large he has gone along with the herd and shown no spine like now with the Barrett nomination. He is worse than the other GOP succubi that fellated Trump unreservedly for four years. He is merely a fence sitting gargoyle positioning himself to run for 2024 as the savior of the GOP.

My friend, who is a retired Marine and thoughtful (relatively) conservative turned on Trump 2 years ago, after voting for him.

He has a bunch of relatives in dead central Pennsylvania, all mostly poor(ish), fairly low in education, semi rural. In a nutshell, Trump's base. He's been going back and forth to visit his dad there, every few months, for years, but to the point, every few months for the last 4 years.

He reports that up until a few months ago, Trump support - this is VERY anecdotal, would be at least 90% - of those he spoke with.

Now, he said at it's at least 50% of these same people against Trump, if not more, with many talking openly about voting for Biden.

For what it's worth.

That's how tides turn. It takes a few people from within the ranks to defect to show those in their social network that (a) dissension is OK, you can talk about your doubts out loud to other Trump supporters, (b) there are solid reasons not to be cultish and (c) there is no penalty for changing your mind, but actually a lot to gain.

It makes a much bigger impact to hear these things from a fellow traveller than from the opposition and Never Trumpers. All of those Republican against Trump ads did work as well IMO.

The tide has turned. Hard

When the MAGA idol has the IQ of a turnip himself and is incapable of detecting the difference between irony and facts is it any wonder that Cult45 is so damn gullible and are so stridently righteous about the dumbest things even when a five year old can see they have got their facts wrong?

Of course Trump's followers are going to spread idiotic conspiracy theories or even report as news satire meant to punk them. Trump can't differentiate anything of value and neither can MAGA cultists. There is a reason the stupidest man in America attracted the dumbest Americans and created a cult. They felt acknowledged for the first time in their lives by having a president as dumb as they are.

He's a mendacious prick and a coward no better than Romney. He's obviously leaking these quotes and it is still a good thing for people to see, but he is not an honorable guy. He is a known bigot and a big supporter of the worst aspects of the Trump anti-immigration, particularly the parent-child separations and camps.

Mattis spoke out and is probably not as morally compromised as Kelly so he at least saved some face for himself.

I recall readin that Kelly initially thought he could impose order on the White House and thereby save Trump from himself. Of course, that could have been just an early self-serving comment. When Kelly could not do it and had to leave, I felt he had badly underestimated the severity of the problem when he first signed on.

Yes, I do not like it that Generals would seem less conservative, war mongering, and seem more understanding of the country's legitimate needs than our elected officials. This does not say that Kelly was great - it further illustrates how bad Trump is.

Trump's treasury dept still withholding nearly $4million from NY 9-11 fire fighters health fund even though NY is the 3rd largest federal income tax payer and these are heroes who risked their lives for entitled turds like Trump.

Agreed Kelly is a piece of **** and the biggest coward. He could end this by coming out and saying exactly what happened with Trump. I still remember him lying about the black congresswoman and never issuing an apology or clarifying statement. He took an oath to the constitution and remains complicit when someone is trying to **** all over that same constitution.
