First of all, he coasts a lot, plays at a very slow pace and doesn't look like he has the speed or burst even when he tries to push tempo. Second, he isn't really a perimeter player. He is very mid range and low post oriented. I'm starting to see a lot of Shaun Livingston in his game. Now, can he still have success in the league and become a star? Yeah absolutely, but I'm not sure how he'd fit on the Knicks honestly. I see Cade and RJ being almost redundant.

Cade is going to have to play on a team that has quality shooters and floor spacers around him so he can operate in his comfort zones. There might be more perimeter skill in his game than he's shown so far but right now I'm starting to question his fit with the guys we have.

The college game is mucked up in the middle. Nowhere near as open as the NBA game. I think he'll look even better as a pro, no matter what team he ends up on (even ours). He can do everything at a good level and has a great feel for the game, as well as other intangibles. And his length on defense is gonna present problems if he stays at the 1.

how's least talented roster in the NBA sound?

Agreed except what if a few of the younger players actually flourish? That’s an unknown

Cade and Suggs at least early have been top of the list for me. They play at another level both skill wise and mental.

Dissappointed we can't see Green and Kuminga yet...not sure what is going to happen to the g-league season. I know they are talking bubble..but man they should be out there right now showing what they got at the college level.

I got Jalen Johnson up there too. That kid is so intriguing and his jumper mechanics look solid too where I can see him being a good shooter eventually.

he's not on my radar..we just picked obi. If we are picking high enough to get him I don't see us picking him with other big names on the board.

What if KP keeps KP'n, and/or Luka misses time, and we end up with two top 5 picks. We're overdue for some lottery luck.

If you think he's "that dude" then you draft him anyway and get rid of the guys we have who don't fit with him like the mavericks did with dennis smith jr

So, I'll never try to say I'm good at calling college guys and who will be great/good/ok/poor/not making it pros.

But so far, in extremely limited highlight watching of the few guys posted up here, Suggs and Johnson have an "it" factor.
Cade looks really good, but Suggs and Johnson have a little something more - a kind of ease and flow yet aggression.

Johnson looks like he has PF size with SF/Guard skills. I guess there could be some tweener arguments against him - I have no idea. Trying to find a reason he might slip.

I know the Knicks need guards in the worst way, but if Suggs and Cade gone, Knicks on the clock and Johnson is there? Yeah, I wouldn't be mad at all if they take him. Grab a PG with the Mavs picks.

Don't even bother talking about anyone else. It's BJ Boston. Get used to it.

It is so mucked up. Every screen and roll he is getting trapped and because the floor isn't spaced in the college game and especially with OK State who doesn't have many shooters. The defense can recover quick enough. It's why you rarely see trapping in the NBA game because after one pass you will get a wide open shot. In the college game since the floor isn't spaced properly you can trap and right now he is making the right reads but like you said things will for sure open up in the NBA.

The one thing I don't like is doesn't really box out and doesn't have great strength...he just uses his size time to time vs smaller guys but if you ever watch him try to box out or rebound over someone his size he always gets beat. Getting some more strength will be important.

I'm not really worried about his "pace" either. He plays smooth so some people think he isn't trying but he plays controlled at his own pace. Not comparing him to Luka but Luka does the same thing....they slowly and surely get to there spots with there own pace. Add in NBA caliber shooters and he can make every pass in the game with his size, iq, and passing ability.

I would say CAA has Rose’s loyalty over UK. Just judging from how we did our last draft. If Toppin was off the board you know we go with Haliburton over Maxey at 8. I’d expect us to do the same in this draft too. Boston has been pretty terrible these first three games and unless he really turns it around he doesn’t look like a top 5 pick.
