Don't really make much of a difference

DSJ/Frank are gone after this year regardless, and we didn't draft a PG

But we really couldn't have gotten a vet who can shoot? That's what's gonna hurt RJ/Obi/Mitch's development this year, cause he's gonna be the starter

20% from 3 last year. Jesus.

If that's happening then the bigger problem is Frank and DSJ are 1 year vet contract players for the rest of their careers before they're out of the league.

This just means Teague didn't want to come here. None of the remaining options made any sense. I get that we should've drafted a PG, but we'd also need a vet PG too. Can't just have our rook be the savior (when he probably wouldn't be capable to doing it anyways)

Of course it's not an issue on a grand level, it's a one-year, $5m deal. It's just so deflating that this team still doesn't put any value on shooting the basketball and that they're fine playing someone like Elfrid 25-28 minutes a night. It also reminds me that despite Rose being here, for some reason Scott Perry is still employed and has a lot of pull. We just all sort of assumed Perry would be fired in the offseason but that clearly hasn't happened.

We're nothing more than a mishmash of washed-up scrubs that have a connection to Perry and young players who have a connection to UK/Payne or guys who are CAA clients.

Yeah, I'm totally there with you. The hope is that RJ & Mitch take a step forward, and the money invested in the coaching staff yields returns from all the other youth on the roster, including the kids they picked up this week. That's still very much on the table to me.

I'm also not too worried about Payton playing 25-28 minutes a night in a scenario where there are clearly better options out there.

Gotta be honest, I was hoping we could get someone that could at least shoot. That said I didn't mind Payton. He was our best passer by quite a margin.
