Haliburton is basically what Lonzo's supposed to be
But don't worry, we got Obi "BPA, but really he's not better, but the fact that he's not as good as the guys taken after him is fine for some reason" Toppin.
Group think and wishful thinking on this forum is pretty serious. All it takes is for the FO to leak their pick (Knox, Frank, or Obi) and people will fall behind.
IDK what that comment means exactly (groupthink, fall behind?)--but KnicksThink sure seems to fall behind a lot. It didn't take Jerry West or Red Aurbach to understand that it's sub-optimal to draft a 23 year old PF when your highest paid (and best, for now) player is an unmoveable 26 year old PF.
In typical Dolan-Knicks fashion, they spent a mid-level lotto pick (not a high lotto pick because they don't try for those) on a player who'd be stashed behind a veteran with the same role. I really like Toppin as a prospect, a player, a person, and a New Yorker--but it was an idiotic pick if you're also committed to featuring Julius Randle. Either trade Randle or just take the f*cking PG prospect, you morons! Pick a damn direction. Instead it's just more of the same fake hustle "rebuild" while simultaneously trying to "win now" on the backs of low-ceiling vets.
But don't worry! Brilliant KnicksThink will have us drafting in the 6-10 range yet again next draft. Talk about falling behind.
