Elfrid, DSJ, Nerlens Noel, Frank can all be traded or waived in my opinion even if it requires for us to include Kevin Knox and a couple of second round picks to get a first round pick.
Only keepers are:
Mitchell
Randle
Obi
Rj
Quickley as a starter to develop him even if we lose.
Burcs
And if possible keep Knox as well.

RJ ain’t a keeper

*shrug* neither is our fanbase

I never said DSJ was a keeper. But I thought he looked decent last night. Care to explain what he was so horrible at?

Bench Payton or RJ.
The 2nd unit looks like it could use some scoring, so bench RJ.

Agreed. Plus, RJ would then play with the young guys on the second unit. I think it would also be better for his development.

Randle has been playing out of his mind, but he's not exactly an elite 3 point shooter either. We know so far Mitch only dunks.
Bullocks is the only true "shooter" on the starting unit and he's somewhat streaky and not really "knockdown".
JJ Reddick he's not.
Randle has a good mid range jumper though.

So, 3 non shooters.
1 guy with a good mid range, not a good 3 point shooter over his career, this season better - so far.
1 who can shoot it "decently" but is hardly elite. And really isn't great at dribble drive or creating etc, so his shooting better be REALLY good. But it's not.

What a team.

I hear you about RJ but I just don’t want to quit on him just yet. His fg% is a horrible 37.4% and he leads the league in minutes played at 38.2mpg but he has a mid range jumper and needs to practice dramatically to improve his fg.
Worst case scenario, we trade him with Knox and Nerlens Noel, Frank, DSJ, Elfrid for a first round pick plus a euro three point shooter.
I don’t really want to trade him nor Knox because they are so young and will only get better though.

Start Quickley over Payton. Start Obi as well. We need to give these youngsters minutes as starters because they are our future all stars in my opinion. Let them make rookie mistakes and work on their areas of weakness.
RJ needs to stay in starting lineup but minutes need to decrease.

Honestly, there isn't anything about Obi, Quickley or RJ that scream "Keepers" to me.

F*ck the youth. F*ck the vets.
I'd trade ANYONE on this team for the right deal.
The RIGHT deal.
Should I repeat it?
Any player can be traded in the right deal.
Especially any player from this collection of players.

I'd consider keeping RJ, Mitch, Obi, Quickley, Knox and Rivers because they are cheap and cost controlled for a bit, not specifically because they are necessarily any good.

I'd also put any of them in the right kind of deal.

The Knicks usually don't make the right kinds of deals, so I guess I'd lean towards keeping them.

I'd be looking to deal Bullocks and Burks for anything of value ASAP.
Same for Noel.
Same for Frank and DSJr.
Same for Payton.
I definitely would explore trading Randle, because he's good and would POTENTIALLY bring the largest return.
I'd also consider picking up his option, but that can wait until the last possible moment.

Somewhat streaky is putting it kindly. He's below league average, misses many wide open 3's and rarely will hit 2 threes in a row.

I wonder if Kevin Knox gets a chance to start. They really need Rivers scoring off the bench. Does iggy get run?

Or does Rivers start?

So:
Payton/Smith Jr
Rivers/Quickley
Barrett/Knox
Randle/Knox
Robinson/Noel
am I forgetting anyone other than the G-Leaguers?

This feels like the start of DSJ's next shot to save his career...yay for 48 minutes of PGs that can't shoot!

We probably start Rivers in place of Bullock especially now that at least DSJ is back and can get some minutes off the bench. There is literally nobody that can play any backup minutes to Randle right now so keeping Knox on the bench for those minutes makes some sense.

then whats the bench like...payton already shoots a lot better to split rivers with the bench IMO.

Hornets will likely adapt the winning formula other teams have deployed against us which is run 2-3 zone for 90% of the game and watch RJ-less and Elv-19 pump fake open 3s and drive it into 4 waiting defenders.

Mitch and Randle will share the load of doing things that don't completely depress/embarrass the fanbase.

We lose.

Its so frustrating that Lamelo's goofy shot that he takes from the logo is a higher percentage than RJ and our 3pt "specialist" Quickley.
