Payton is on a good run and if this coaching staff maximizes his talent this year we'll be a team to be reckoned with. The team is winning and it's all I care about.

We've won our last 2, but before last game we won 1 of 6. That puts us at 3-5 over our last 8. I don't think that counts as "winning" but maybe I'm just bad at math.

Thibs values Payton for his ability to get to the basket and play decent D. Problem with Payton is consistency. He doesn't always attack like he should and isn't looking to make a play for anyone other than Randle most of the time.

He's a throwback PG in the age of Curry and Lillard - but he's not the kind of throwback who makes his teammates better. He's not a guy piling up assists from setting up his teammates for easy shots.

The Knicks are a cursed franchise - and this dude is just part of the curse.

And somehow that's good for 6th in the EC playoff picture. Doesn't seem right but we're closer to being in the business of attracting FA than hitting a home run on draft night. And if the Mavs keep losing we might actually do both

Thibs just looking for someone with size he can trust at the PG position right now.
Ideally I would be good with IQ starting at PG with D-Rose leading the second units

When watching the games I want IQ to play more minutes, however, the main player I want to lose minutes is Rivers.

Rivers is losing minutes, down to 8 last night. Just keep Rivers out completely and let IQ get all those minutes.
