The fastest way for the Knicks to win a ring, would be for RJ to pull a DWade and get Zion to commit here in 5-6 years ala LeBron.

Haven't seen anyone ever with his Speed, Power and Hangtime.

I've always thought that in the back of my head ever since they were drafted. Zion wanted NY you could see the disappointment he had on lottery day.

I think it can happen.

Knicks need to manage their cap so that they have one max salary slot for Zion when he becomes a UFA. That gives the Knicks plenty of time to sign players to multi-year deals to stay competitive by the time Zion hits free agency.

He wanted to be a Knick and the Knicks have his brother RJ. Not to mention, the Pelicans neither have a fanbase nor a spectacularly competent front office. It's obvious he hasn't been able to capitalize on the hype due to being in New Orleans. It's not a small market thing, I just think this franchise in particular is a hype killer.

If the Pelicans aren't a contender in the next 5 years, and the Knicks have a solid foundation, keep your eyes on Zion.

zion won't be a free agent for 6 years and it'll be like waiting for giannis to become a FA, just a waste of time

Just to clarify, I'm against waiting for any FA to come. Keep building, but have your contracts (besides your building blocks) expire in a year where you have the flexibility to sign Zion should he want out. It's just a matter of planning.

I was never in favor of wasting seasons, trading away assets and waiting for max FAs like KD, Kyrie or Giannis to sign.

Just keep building, keep winning, yet give yourself a chance by managing your cap smartly to sign a generational talent when the time comes.

With Zion, the Knicks do provide some incentives that other teams don't have. Compared to LeBron, Giannis or Durant, Zion is by far the likeliest superstar to come. Not even close.

The faster path is probably RJ forcing his way OFF the Knicks and onto the Pelicans.

You know, for those who are such big fans of Zion/RJ together again.

The even faster path than that is that they both leave the same year and sign as free agents in a desirable location like the Lakers or Brooklyn

Why would anybody want rj and zion together? Those two are clearly better apart than together.

I mean, why do players want to play for the Lakers, Clippers, and Heat? Other than being in a winning situation.

The heat is obvious. They have been good for a while now they built a sustainable organization...the weather and the taxes (so you make lot more there).

Lakers are the Lakers

I wouldn't say the clippers haven't really been a FA destination until Kawhi basically single handily recruited PG13 and neither are the Bulls for the most part.

This just screams a brand play to me. I have my concerns. I like the player...but him saying I like playing with Zion and Ingram but I want to live in a big city to promote my brand is worrisome.
