I may be old but my memory is still pretty sharp.
Phil took a beating when it came out that he was poking around to see what we could get back. What pissed me off about that is that this criticism of Phil got dove-tailed into the hate he got from SAS (and Lebron and everyone else who piled on) for his handling of Melo (Phil got that right too as evidenced by Melo's improved play since he got to Portland), and the media used that to basically run Phil out of town. But, whatever, Phil made out real well. I just can't wait for his next book to come out.
Maybe it's different with me because I watched Phil play and contribute to the best basketball I ever got to watch back from the time with trade for Debusschere to time we traded Clyde. I think a lot of other Knicks' fans knew him more from his days coaching the Bulls and the Lakers and, let's face it, the media here - and pretty much everywhere except Chicago - hated his guts.
