He's a 3rd string center (4th string once Mitch comes back). He's OK, but hardly a game-changer.

Well in 2000 we were coming off a shortened strike season. Takes a while to get some fans back after that. In ‘94 we had to compete with the trial of the century in OJ.

As in all things, context is key.

94 and 99 were also two years without Jordan. They lost a lot of casual viewers those years

he's just trying to be entertaining. i don't know why people get all upset about these shows. being hyperbolic is way more entertaining than being nuanced. even for the people on this site that holds true.

He played incredibly selfishly, refused to shoot 3's, and played horrendous defense his first time around as a Knick. His assist% was the lowest of his career up to that point.

He's had a Julius level transformation in this second go-round. Rose is a different player. His mentality is better.

He went AWOL. People forget he had the trial going on, he never wanted to be traded in the first place, our culture absolutely sucked back then. Big difference now.

he was still garbage his first time here

Correction: he played like garbage the first time here.

I like him fine as 3rd/4th string C, break glass in case of emergency type

But he's no Amida Brimah.

Max is legit tight he mightve jumped onto the bandwagon of the future champs but he'll never have such joy watching it happen.

Game 5. I was there. The standout memory is that while an NBA Finals game was going on on the floor, so many people were up at the concession stands watching the chase on TVs. So weird.

Ewing had 8 blocks that night and they won, but everybody was watching the damn TVs.

Its impressive how methodical the team looks now. Every game is the same where all the players know their roles, the defensive rotations are automatic, they force the pace to the way they like it. The Knicks are business-like compared to recent opponents like the Grizzlies that looks like they are scrambling to do something. Its similar to the Spurs or Heat, they've been playing the same way for 20 years and are always a decent team.

How can you not love a guy that dislocates a finger, stays in the game for free throws, then gets 2 blocks on top of that?

By no means a difference maker but he fits right into the culture and a nice 4th string option with all the injuries.

Is it not strictly based on record? We've been in the lottery for so long that I forget how the back half of the draft works

My bad. It is based on regular season record. It's been so long that I forgot

I do love that, but I gotta stan for my favorite player from that 2014 championship.

Yeah, postseason record matters for the NFL, NBA it's all set once the season ends.

I want to be there, I really do, but I can't muster it. I don't know if that level of optimistic charisma is able to be produced in my battered and beaten Knicks fan body anymore.

Only thing I didn't like last night was when we went to straight iso with Randle. That was just silly and not the Knicks way. Luckily for us, Rose got a 2nd wind and was able to take the load off of Randle. And that's what we're missing so desperately... That other guy who can create for himself and others. RJ will get there one day, I think Quick will get there but neither are there. Burks has his moments but unless it's Randle or Rose - we're not that team. Ball movement, ball movement, ball movement is our offense and when we do it - it's truly a thing of beauty.
