I've always been fond of Monty. His rookie year was the first year I remember really following the Knicks; like knowing the roster outside of the starters and watching all the games. Glad he is succeeding as well

I was sure after our early playoff exit that Monty would run away with the award.
This is a very pleasant surprise.

Congrats Thibs!!

Ty Lue played Morris at the 5 to be able to switch on Luka and have more shooting on the floor.

That adjustment, along with benching the Clippers' lilliputians, won him the series.

I'm still waiting for Thibs to play Randle at the 5. Oh no, wait, the series is over.

Bro played Elfrid and still won a ton of games. Reminds me of Larry Bird only shooting with his left hand to style on the Blazers.

LOL yeah, I know.

I meant since we lost early and the Suns advanced, I thought Monty was favored.

Luka still dropped like 35 a game. It helps to have Kawhi.

Did you miss the last 10 years of this franchise? Thibs deserved it. He took Julius Randle, the guy everyone wanted traded last year for a bag of beans, into a legit MVP candidate. He took RJ Barrett and proved to us that he belongs to be drafted 3rd overall. He took IQ and made him into every teams ā€œshould have drafted this guy.ā€ He inspired a group of players who didnā€™t play defense before this, to play defense night in and night out. He also got D Rose to play the best basketball heā€™s played in years. Did we get destroyed by the Hawks? Yes but we shouldnā€™t lose sight of the progress this guy made with this team. Thibs is a real coach and is a difference maker.

Let me know the last time a Knicks coach made his players better? Oh thatā€™s right it was the last time Thibs was an assistant coach under JVG.

Lineup management, adjustments, injecting confidence in players, etc, is a big part of being a coach. I'd give more credit to the assistant coaches/player development staff for working with Randle and Barrett individually, rather than Thibs.

Like---for months we heard, "We have Payton out there because of his defense." But then in those big time defensive sequences, he always subs in Frank, and no Payton. Why the hell are you having a guy who apparently can be trusted in important defensive possessions only playing 15-20 seconds per game?

Also---what the hell did Thibs do for IQ? IQ's game is centered around launching 3s and hitting floaters. That has nothing to do with Thibs, besides Thibs just giving him minutes.

Thibs theme is win the game.
He will play whoever he thinks give him the best chance to win.
It is up to FO to get him the players.
Player development is FO task not Thibs.

Meh, he couldā€™ve managed minutes during the regular season better.

Hey, Payton was pretty offensive if you ask me.

Congrats, Thibs. You deserve it.
