I made this post (below) the other day before I knew there were any real interest.

Kid should've been on our team USA too because we wouldn't be losing like this with him!

@ 6'7 he can play both SG and SF and started @ SF for Miami last year.

Only 27 years old and one of the most deadly 3PT shooters who've ever lived to play this game.

Career 3PT% of .423%.

That is. Unheard of. Especially after 1,254 3PT attempts (no small sample size).

His 3PT% is 13th All-Time and ahead of Klay Thompson who's 14th All-Time and also ahead of the likes of J.J. Redick, Glen Rice, Reggie Miller and Alan Houston too!

Not far behind Steph Curry 7th All-Time @ .433% either.

Duncan Robinson is an absolute sniper! and Miami NEVER makes the NBA Finals, without him.

His 3PT shooting ability and 3PT threat alone completely spreads out opposing Defenses and would absolutely open up the offense for both R.J. Barrett and Julius Randle to absolutely FEAST because you can't double team them while leaving Duncan Robinson open to destroy you from 3.

He shot .470% in 2019-2020 during Miami's NBA Finals run throughout the entire season. .470%?!?!? That's literally. Unheard of. .470%?

His 270 3s made ranks 15th All-Time during a single season (2019-2020).

He's my favorite potential FA outside of Kawhi Leonard @ SF (pipe dream) and I want this deadly sharp shooting sniper to capture our Allan H20 Houston hearts so bad and for many of years to come too.

Our Knicks already have enough of Tom Thibs #1 Defense but what we lack are two things. 1.) A SF and 2.) One of the greatest 3PT shooters who've ever lived to play this game.

C: Mitchell Robinson.
PF: Julius Randle.
SF: Duncan Robinson.
SG: R.J. Barrett.
PG: Lonzo Ball (or Collin Sexton).
6th: Immanuel Quickley.

Where was this against the Atlanta Hawks?

Isn't there a "rumors" topic for this?

Isn't this pretty much our Knicks offseason and a message board to create threads like this?

Plus I figured if "Re: Sexton Convo, Update PG: 15 - Knicks most aggressive suitor" deserved it's own thread well then so does Duncan Robinson and he's also one of my favorite Free Agents to potentially hit the open market and with so many reports of Knicks interest I figured it'll be thread worthy for us as a fan base.

Thoughts on Duncan Robinson?

Duncan Robinson is a fine player and all, and so is Lonzo... but he won't come cheap and it's not worth giving up future flexibility for a player of his caliber.

He isn't good enough to tie up that much money to for 3-4 years for our situation. He is player you go after when you already have your stars and you're looking for that last piece or two. We're not there yet. Continue to take short contracts, build in the draft and young players until you finally get to the point in a year or two where you're ready for a Duncan Robinson-type player.

Great shooter, active cutting without the ball, I'd like him AFTER the Knicks get at the very least, a dominant 3 level scorer/dribble drive guy - while RJ grows into that, but is a couple of years away.

On a fair deal... sure.

Grab Robinson for 4 years, then Lowry for 2 years and draft well to stock the bench.

Mitch Rob, Randle, DRob, RJ, Lowry. Rose, IQ and co off the bench. I can roll with that.

What do you think he will get? Probably more than mid-level, but if you look at similar guys Kennard and Bertrans you are looking at the 15M area no? Not exactly breaking the bank and if he doesn't crash, he is moveable

Yeah I think the goal for this team is to find their Duncan Robinson before he gets dunked in free agency. When you have to deal with a salary cap going for the obvious proven [fill in the blank] isn't always the obvious solution...unless that obvious player is a bonafide star.

I disagree man he's more than just a good player he's one of the greatest and most deadly 3PT shooters of All-Time and he's only 27 years of age @ a position of weakness (SF) and Miami Heat never sniff the NBA Finals in 2019-2020 without this kid.

And come on man we just made the playoffs as a #4 seed during only coach Thibs 1st season so imo we shouldn't act as if our Knicks aren't ready to truly contend (with a couple of strong offseason acquisitions).

All-Time NBA 3PT% leaders
1.) Steve Kerr (.454%).
7.) Stephen Curry (.433%).
10.) Kyle Korver (.428%).

13.) Duncan Robinson (.423%).

14.) Klay Thompson (.419%).

17.) J.J. Redick (.414%).
38.) Mark Price (.402%).
39.) Allan Houston (.401%).
44.) Danny Green (.400%).
46.) Peja Stojaković (.400%).
48.) Glen Rice (.400%).
48.) Ray Allen (.400%)
63.) Reggie Miller (.394%).
111.) Kevin Durant (.383%).
122.) Danilo Gallinari (.382%).
129.) Dirk Nowitzki (.380%).
164.) Larry Bird (.375%).

And no (before I get attacked) in no way shape or form an I saying that this kid is a better overall player than a lot of these guys mentioned above but what I am saying is that he's one of the greatest 3PT shooters of All-Time who I've ever lived to see play this game.

And this isn't a small sample size neither, this kid has already made 530 3's throughout 1,254 3PT attempts after only 3 years of NBA play and has a career 3PT% of .419% @ only 27 years of age (he's going to continue to get even more deadly as he continues to develop).

And during Miami's season of 2019/2020 where they made an NBA Finals? This kid shot 323/687 from 3 with an unheard of 3PT% of .446%. .446%? As only a 2nd year player? That's absolutely jaw dropping and mind boggling to me.

Duncan Robinson is the type of player who turns a 4th seed and a 1st round exit team into a true Conference contender while spreading out the court in order to make sure that both R.J. Barrett and Julius Randle can absolutely flourish without getting double teamed (or else Duncan Robinson kills you from 3 because you can not leave him open).

If we're to land Duncan Robinson? Well then I'd also be open to Sexton as well.

C: Mitchell Robinson.
PF: Julius Randle.
SF: Duncan Robinson.
SG: R.J. Barrett.
PG: Collin Sexton (or Lonzo Ball).

6th man: Immanuel Quickley.

How is that team not ready to compete (here in the East) until the likes of a Luka Dončić and Zion Williamson become available in 4-5 years from today?

And he is a better ball handler as well. Has a more versatile offense.

Just sign Doug McDermott, who unlike Reggie Bullock and Duncan Robinson actually does things inside of the 3 point line besides only shooting 3 pointers.
