or... expanding it to take Kemba off your hands...

Brunson + Dwight Powell for Dallas 2023 pick back + Jericho Sims + Kemba.

Why would you trade Sims for Brunson when we already have Quickley and Sims is doing well as a rookie with good potential. No thanks!!

Just what Thibs wants. Another small PG who makes it hard to handle switches. Granted Brunson isn't finished in the legs like Kemba was. Still, that and some C depth that isn't needed, all for the rights to trade away a draft asset, which the Knicks aren't exacly overflowing with.

Still, when that star wants out of another team, the Knicks would have the likes of Brunson, Powell, their own picks in the 20's and a charlotte pick in the 20's to offer. Clearly that could land the elite of elite talents.

I think Brunson would cost more then that anyway.

Rose might want Brunson but I'm not sure Thibs would.
Kemba was probably Perry's idea. I just figure all bad ideas are Perry's ideas. :D

Kemba didn't work out but I dont think it was a bad idea. Still relatively cheap and low risk. It was better then taking on a $40+mil contract or trading picks or the worst option of all bringing back Elf. We learned some things in the process and moved on.

Brunson is a good player. With the way bigger backcourts have been working for us, the fit would be a concern especially since we have a bunch of smaller guards. But I think Brunson would be a great pickup for us who does some different things that we could use.

He is unrestricted so may be someone we keep an eye out for during free agency rather then trade for now

For any salaries to make that work, we would have to include Fournier, Kemba, Knox and Noel

Now having that said... if Houston throws in a 1st or a young prospect , and we have 2 years of Wall instead of 3 years of Fournier.... I would be open to listening

Wall / Rose
Grimes / IQ
RJ / Burks
Randle / Obi
Mitch / Sims / Taj

Swap Burks for Knox and I’m in. Clean up all the long-term money mistakes we made this past summer in one shot. Finish out the year, and then we have 1 more left of Wall or we buy his last year out.

No chance we get either for Fournier straight up.

Brunson would probably be the best player on the Knicks given the new OLD Randle, the earthbound Mitch and inconsistent IQ and RJ.

Oh my God if we could get wall that would be a GODSEND

I've wanted him ever since he came into the league. Same thing I said about CP3 and Rondo

How anyone wants us to trade for Wall's 47 million dollar contract next year and thinks it would be a good idea, let alone a "GODSEND" is beyond me

He wasn't even worth that contract when he signed it, let alone now.

Depends on what your motive is. I want to tank, and he’s the perfect tank commander, plus we get out of that money sooner. Let the young guys get more time/looks, a better draft pick, and max FA money in 2023.

That's fair, especially if you're saying we get a pick/young player with him

Like, I'd take him and Gordon (3 years, 60 mil) back if I got Sengun

But if you're saying "Wall is what we need to win" then I'm gonna disagree.

Oh wasn't referring to the contract but I love him as a player. Not aware of his contract terms anymore, if he's healthy he would make us a much much better team and he's a #1. We're not getting any of these pipedream signings in a few years so might as well compete now unless you're gona blow it up
