What's going on with the BP and Conforto? I read that we're looking to make a trade in order to sign Forto. My guess is that Dom and/or JD are gone.

Depends on how he’s doing. I just read that Jake will rest for 4 weeks and will be re-evaluated at that time.

Edit: I just saw a headline that said the injury is a “stress reaction in the shoulder” (technically, it’s the right scapula which is actually the shoulder blade and not the shoulder joint, capsule, or the ligaments, tendons, and/or muscles that surround and stabilize the shoulder).

Eppler almost made a BVW trade with the Padres. He considered trading Dom Smith for Chris Haddock (SP) and Pagan (RP). Each is coming off horrible 2-year slides. Thankfully, we didn’t pull the trigger on that one.

I don’t understand why Dom is not the No. 1 1B. He has Gold Glove potential and is a .300 when healthy. Move Pete to DH where he belongs.

The young man has real power. I'm not sure that Buck will let him catch deGrom (if/when he returns) and Scherzer, at least. But maybe between the occasional Saturday and/or Sunday afternoon starts and some time at DH, we can get him a fair number of ABs. McCann has been a disappointment. I hope we can trade him at some point.

My user name is Daaaarryyl because my favorite memories as a kid was cutting out of Junior High in the late 80's and going to Shea to chant at Darryl Strawberry-(the chant that we turned around from a mocking chant at Fenway into a pro-Straw chant) and watching him play MVP-like for 3 years.

Straw is still my all-time favorite Met, shyt, my all time favorite player period---ahead of Ewing, Reyes, Wright, Curtis Martin, Doc, Chrebet, LJ, Camby, Spree, Houston, Piazza, Keyshawn, Alfonso, Beltran, Abraham, Olerud, Starks, Mex, Derrick Harper (!!!). Revis, Floyd, Lin, Hojo etc.

Most explosive talent in NY in the past 50 years..........


But I was too young to follow Straw in the system and I'm comparing Alvarez now to him as far as an potential elite propsect.

Kid looks like he craves the challenges and is really exciting right now.
