I can believe what I believe because i choose to believe it, the first amendment or any other man made doctrine has no bearing on that.
Man made laws and amendments made it legal to own slaves based on the man made concept of race. Back in 1857 the federal government decided that it had a positive, indeed a constitutional, obligation to defend slavery and they did so successfully in what is called the Dread Scott Decision.
The decision was based on the idea that (blacks) "had no rights which the white man was bound to respect; and that the (blacks) might justly and lawfully be reduced to slavery for the white mans benefit".
Never mind that the Declaration of Independence stated , "all men are created equal," because hey... Negroes aren't men or citizens.... how convenient.
So now we want to say murder is ok because hey that thing kicking in the mother's uterus isn't "alive" until xxx months.days, its inside of HER body and she has the RIGHT to do what she wants!..... how convenient
