They're going to make a movie about this dude. And it'll make millions. He makes Trump look like a low-level narcissist. Did you hear about the disabled veteran with the dying dog? Santos (btw, that's not his real name) set up a GoFundMe page for the vet's dog's medical bills and then stole all the money!!!
His real name isn't George Santos and he got all that campaign money from his cousin who is a Russian oligarch. He's wanted in Brazil for defrauded the woman who gave him food and shelter when he had none. Oh, and he played a drag queen in Brazil and is now a Republican House rep. taking a very hypocritical position ... not that it matters to Speaker McCarthy.
(I have no problem with drag shows etc.; I have a big problem with hypocrisy.)
Did I miss anything?

yeah i was gonna say, I have zero issues with him being a former drag performer. It's the fact that the dude is a complete con man who is now sitting in congress that's the issue. He's a national security threat in my opinion...you're gonna seat him on committees, giving him access to information that frankly a criminal like him shouldn't be anywhere near. His campaign funding and proximity to Russian money is something that needs to be thoroughly investigated. The fact that Kevin McCarthy is ignoring calls from Long Island GOPers who want him to resign is a disgrace.
the stuff about defrauding the people over getting healthcare for their dog really pisses me off though being a dog owner myself. you have to be some sort of animal to do that to someone.
the sad part is, regardless of political beliefs, here we have an openly gay man in Congress and we can't even highlight it as a positive sign of progress in America because he's literally the dude from that Leonardo Dicaprio and Tom Hanks movie "Catch Me If You Can". Is Anthony Devolder even his real name? It's the most bizarre thing I've seen in politics in a long time.

The modern day GOP are as shameful as they come. There is no low they won't stoop to in an effort to maintain any semblance of power. And it's not even to fight for the ppl. It's fight against the ppl. Keep voting against your best interests

I met someone who was like Santos once in real life. She was able to use her minority status/victimhood stories to rise in orgs, burn bridges, claim discrimination, and keep rising. Super likable when you first met her, but afterwards...scary as hell. I wonder if her stories were ever real.

This doesn't surprise me one bit and that the GOP along with it's base embrace this guy the way they do isn't surprising either, it's actually very 'on brand' for them.

Most politicians (other than Trump) lies usually embedded with complexities, loopholes, and/or laws that the average man doesn't have the time to sit there and understand.
Santos lies are so easily understandable to the average person that makes it ridiculous. The dude even lie about his HS records.

The 'politician lie' use to be about misrepresenting a bill or not fulfilling a campaign promise but the type of lying that's going on now is the most mind-boggling stuff, some of it even criminal. The shrugging and excuse making for it is unreal, they literally don't care about it because it's their 'team'.
The worst fringe element kooks and cranks are the heart of the GOP now, it's only going to get worse too as the older guard retires these extremists are going to be running the country because of the process rigging the party has accomplished so a minority of voters will have a majority of representation.

The GOP will try their best to push everything related to Santos under the rug because they literally need every single vote in their party to pass anything and hold the majority. He is a useful idiot in their eyes (then again, everyone in their party is) and unless he is doing the perp walk for something he committed, he could kick babies on live television and gaslight everyone to pretend it's not a big deal, while still keeping him in congress.
They have already passed the point of ever being called the party of family values. They already lost the right to call themselves the party of fiscal responsibility as well since they are fully prepared to blow up the debt ceiling - just to "pwn teh libs".

Getting back to Ms. Santos, he will definitely be charged with illegal campaign finance violations. It's just a matter of time before he's removed ... I would think. I'm sure Leticia James is on this case.
