shiiiid what better options do we have than take a chance on a perennial league mvp eventually breaking thru?

I’ll say it again, only Knicks fans would turn down an MVP player

OK, maybe you're right? Maybe not. Let's see... Regardless of their availability, which NBA players do you think would be worth our trading significant assets for (don't worry if they'll never get traded, just want to see who we'd take if we could get him).

not to mention he's always injured by the time the playoffs come around and he's getting older but what can you do ? he's a top 5 player in the league. don't worry, we aint getting him anyway.

if that’s the case our hopes for a championship lay solely on hoping brunson is really that dude and mitchell can fill in as a really good number 2 option.. even if the fit is shoddy

This is definitely the plan. The only question is if it's via trade or free agency.

it's not a pairing that makes you think we're gonna win a title. but they're both young enough that if it doesn't work after a few years you can pivot and trade one. if you want to stay employed it may be the safer bet.
say you trade for embiid and give up all the goods and he fails, like he has before, and then he gets routinely more injured over the next few years which seems likely. you're screwed. if the primary goal, even more than winning a championship, is to be good for a number of years to keep dolan happy and sell seats it's a way more risky deal. it could all be over in like 2 years and you'd be left with no picks and no youth.

they would have to drop too many players to sign him outright. after the iq signing we're gonna have so much money committed. it'll have to be a trade.
