If they will take Randle for Kat, no problem. But once Mitch is gone, we're going to be the worst defensive team in the league.

Kats. Power foward now. I think the goal would to play him with mitch
It does seem like its not working well with Gobert tho so thats concerning
I would be perfectly fine with Ihart starting tbh

Don’t we have to give up Randle and RJ since KAT’s contract is so massive

But if KAT is struggling with a rim runner in Gobert, why would it be different with Mitch?

Kat's contract this year is $36,016,200. it will hit 50M next season.

The only way KAT makes sense at center is if we upgrade everyone around him to a plus or elite defender. So IQ, Grimes, and Hart stay and basically all the other rotation pieces go. Maybe Brunson's ability to draw charges upgrades his level on defense.

Right now, Kat is shooting worse than Randle from deep this season. Kat is shooting 24% against Randle"s 26%

he is frustrating to watch at times too, but no one is worse than Randle in that regard.

The main issue is the price to upgrade from Randle to KAT. It will not be Randle, some expirings plus a couple of picks. It will be a massive package (probably RJ + IQ and many picks). Besides, Kat as a forward is very ordinary.
He thrives as a Center when he has the space to attack and can be faster than their defenders. But playing as a Center he is a liability on the defensive end.

once new tv deal happens..salary cap will go up anyways
im only down to trade for kat..if we can still have enough assets for another star btw
Who i really want is jaren jackson jr tho..with grizz sturggling i hope hes on the block..i know he has ties to the knicks and caa
but i doubt he or embiid will ever be available..and i doubt we will be able to get rid of randle for anything better than kat

Is this based entirely on two barking media clowns (Barkley and SAS) or is there actually some credible intelligence that the Wolves and Knicks are even remotely interested?

while giving up 4 years of draft picks plus some of our youth
hard pass

Thing is, Randle is a two-time all-star. If traded, he has to be traded with that value. KAT is injury-prone and wildly overpaid. As the acquiring team, the Knicks would be entitled to a significant discount. Otherwise, no deal. KAT is not some franchise-direction-changing player. Management needs to brutally separate the hype from the truth in any deal.
