I've sold the house and moving back to Philadelphia. Any of you lunatics live there now? Are there any bars where Knicks' fan gravitate to with fear of retaliation from those mongrel Sixer fans?

You know, I really going to miss those long walks along the Great South Bay at Wantagh Park. Lots of fabulous sunsets. But that's about it.

I do! But there isn't really a Knicks bar that I know of. You will see a lot of Knicks fans out and about though especially when they are in town. If you go to XFinity Live (bar by the stadium) the day of a game there will be a bunch of fans there.

Cool! Are you near Center City or outside of it? I lived in Fishtown and Old City before. I think I'm going back to Fishtown. There's SO MUCH new construction there now. Wow. I checked to see if some of my favorite food spots are still in Philly ... AND THEY ARE!!!!!!

How's things going there these days? I see that new Mayor, Cherelle Parker, the first female Mayor of Philadelphia, is set to begin her first term with a new police and fire commissioners. Crime is going down (as it has across the country).

No shyt. I used to live in Seaford harbor behind 7th precinct. Ocean Ave right by the White Whale bar. Loved it down there. Why the move?

I'm outside of it all the way at city limits in Chestnut Hill. Got sick of the pure city life tbh lol. I'll be in the suburbs soon enough but in the greater Philly area.

Philly is what it is IMO. If you're in the right spot and keep to yourself nobody will bother you but obviously there are high crime areas and fentanyl has rocked certain neighborhoods sadly enough. That all being said I've been here for 7-8 years now and I've enjoyed the overall experience even as a NY sports fan. Luckily I happen to like all the teams that aren't direct rivals with their teams.

I don't know Philly but I'll be moving to South Jersey just across the bridge from Philly. Not far. South of Trendon in the Edgewater park area. It's Philly sports down there, not NY, which I understand, but is unfortunate.

PHilly tickets cost less than Knicks tickets - that's a plus. Baseball tickets are cheaper too. Not sure how welcoming they would be to a NY fan though.

my experience at philly sporting events as an obvious new york team supporter has been generally fine. the biggest difference i've seen with us is how openly and directly they show their displeasure with their own teams/players. like, i've been to games where it felt like storming the playing area was more likely than fan fighting.

otherwise, iono... they not too different from the NY area fans. i will say, i used to go to giants/eagles at the old giants stadium annually just for the fights. guaranteed throwing hands. but i guess it takes two to tango.

Right! They're too busy hating on their own teams when they're not playing well (sometimes even when they are playing well). When they're doing better than us, they're in too good a mood to cause trouble. Obviously, all bets are off for hockey and football games. I never go to those.

Giants Stadium meant guys on both sides looking like Tony Soprano BLOTTO by halftime and literally rolling down the stone stairs like a cartoon by the start of the 4th.

I’m about to go to philadelphia for the first time next month on a short trip, looking forward to eating cheesesteaks

Yea, baseball and basketball games are good. Knicks games in Philly are fun since there are so many Knicks fans. Philly isn’t near intense about basketball as it is about football. Theres some trash talking but nothing close to an eagles game. That’s a different vibe. You gotta prepare to have a lotta insults and stuff thrown your way if you go in another jersey especially if they are losing….but probably not too much different from ny. I have seen some bad things at giants/jets games.

Then there's Tony Luke's on Oregon Ave. and Jim's Steaks on South St. D'Allesandro's on Ridge or Henry Ave in Roxborough is supposed to be a favorite of many. Never got to try it.

I’ve never been to the city at all so yeah I’ll check it out and Jim’s is pretty close to where I am. I’m staying at the Kimpton Hotel Monaco on independence mall E and chestnut and I’m actually going because I have an appointment at the Italian consulate on Chestnut St where I should be getting my dual citizenship recognized so it will be a time to celebrate hopefully. North Carolina is in the consular district of Philadelphia which is why I’m traveling there . Maybe I’ll run up those rocky steps before I go
