Tough spot for him. FIrst he gets injured and then goes to the worst team in the league.

I dunno if he'll ever fix his shot to be more consistent but I hope he does. Seems like they start falling when we're up 20 but clanks it when we really need them to fall. Good luck to Grimes. Should've traded him when his value was higher.

He was "disgruntled" despite being on a winning team. Maybe he'll be happy in Detroit with less pressure.

What a difference a year and a half makes. Him and RJ became trade chips after being high on the Knicks radar.

Game 5 against Miami, clutch with the steal and 48 minutes of play. Salute to you.

Not surprised that he got traded. Undoubtedly, he will go on to have a solid career. Knicks are in win-now mode.

Thibs still has a job today because of Grimes' defensive performance last season. He was on the verge of getting fired in December 2022 and Grimes' defense saved his job.

NBA is a 'what have you done for me lately' environment. It is what it is.

I was a big grimes supporter but his shooting inconsistency was getting worse. Sucks since he has picture perfect jumpshot but can’t make anything

I wish Obi, IQ, RJ, and Grimes all the best. All of them are good guys and solid players.

Sad to see him go after the promise he showed last year. In the end I think he was just a bad fit currently for Thibs offense. Either you have to be a great isolation player or you have to be unafraid to just let shots fly when the opportunities present themselves. I would have loved to see him in a more free flowing offense with more ball and player movement but that is not what Thibs does. Hopefully he can build his game, his confidence and become more consistent on a team with lower expectations. I just wish we sent him to a more well-run organization but maybe they finally turn things around. Good luck to him.

good defender and shooter. no bag on offense despite some summer videos I guess.
I wanted him to be our long term solution at the 2, but seemed shook from start of the playoffs last season until now.
good luck in Detroit, could be a nice fit alongside Cade and Ivey.

I truly did appreciate Grimes as a player and think he will have a great career. We are on to bigger things now and he was a part of getting us here. Good luck.

I was hoping he would get more time after RJ/IQ trade. He was our best perimeter defender. Will be difficult to replace him.

Not gonna lie but I’m going to miss him. I think he is solid player but not the right fit in New York.

Good luck young man. I hope you finally find a way to maximize your game which seems perfectly tailored for the modern NBA
