OG - is he worth the money he’ll demand?
OG is gonna want the bag this offseason, are the Knicks prepared to pay up?
When healthy, we’ve seen what he could do, but he’s rarely healthy.
Do the knicks want to take a gamble here?

It's between OG and Mitch for our " RED CROSS" money -- both ALWAYS injured. OG
gets u into the PLayoffs, Mitch not so much.

I think the contract offered to OG should be incentivized based on the amount of games he plays.
The Knicks absolutely have to do this!!

Yep. What’s the alternative? We need to draft a 3nD wing that can fill in for him and Randle.

Re: OG - is he worth the money he’ll demand?
nowadaya you can get supplimentary scorers, vet or rook
but getting a multi-positional defender is difficult. His injury proneness would be a discussion point in the negos, more likely than not
we cant contend with him taking up 40m per and not available for the good part of the season

Yup. Healthy OG was looking like Kawhi-lite out there. Worth the risk.

He is worth it if you're willing to get a different coach who will load manage the crap out of him.
If you keep Thibs then OG will never be healthy when you need him most

What is the alternative?
40 + 40 still keeps things in line with our current cycle of players.
If we resign, does it prevent us from making certain moves?
Only reason to not resign in is if we wanted to save Dolan money.

The problem is he is not a good fit with a coach who overplays his rotation players and is reluctant to use his bench.
Thibs is going to have to adjust the way he coaches injury prone guys like him and Mitch, to maximize their effectiveness.

He will make around $30 million with incentives. I trust Brock Aller and his wizardry to make the numbers work.

Re: OG - is he worth the money he’ll demand?
Thibs talked about OG and Hart being interchangeable. The key is to get one player, like Mikal, who can move Hart to 6th man and thus reduce OGs minutes.
Or else a young 3-4 forward who can platoon with Randle and OG to reduce minutes

There goes my hero. Watch him as he goes.

Why would you pay OG 30 mill, and I'm hearing some people say 40 mill
2021- 43 games played
2022- 48 games played
2023- 67 games played
2024- 50 games played
120 missed games in 4 seasons
100 mill 3yr with a player option for 4..thats 25 mill per, 5 more than what he gets now..

This, and you have to ask what other teams would pay him. Maybe there's a team out there that makes him a crazy offer to win in 2025, but if not, I'm sure he'll work something out with the Knicks.
I-Hart too.

Bad things can happen in free agency and Philly would benefit by hurting NY, though I don't know if they'll use their money on OG or someone else. My guess is someone else.
They've been linked to Jimmy Butler too.
Nothing we can do but wait and see how it plays out.

Have to sign him.
Make it injury incentivized.
