I honestly think we could make no moves this offseason and we would be fine.

Sign OG to a big deal and pray he doesn't get hurt cause we don't have much of a choice since we traded for him. If he can stay semi-healthy its not a bad deal at all.
Julius Randle and Mitchell Robinson can be traded if we actually get a good deal since they are both a bit injury prone but if not its fine to keep them. For once I want to see a healthy Randle come playoff time capable of helping Brunson as a 2nd option.
Basically all we can do is hope most of our team stays healthy because we are clearly capable to make it to the ECF with a fairly healthy team, we were only one step away this season.
For the record I don't blame Thibs for our injuries for the most part, I think some of them were just fluke injuries.

Standing pat is a legit option. The biggest question (I think OG is a given) is whether iHart can be retained and what we do if he can't be. We'll certainly be exploring deals with Bog and the picks.

Katz just reported we're looking for another star player (which has been the plan for years)

Realistically who can we get?
Donovan Mitchell is possible I guess but not sure how well Brunson and MItchell would fit....
Obviously a star wing or big would be better but dont see it being possible.

Why don't you think it's possible? Names I have as realistic targets include:
1: Donovan Mitchell
2: Mikal Bridges
3: Paul George (s&t)
4: DeMarr DeRozan (s&t)
5: Brandon Ingram
Also, we were hit by injuries twice in a row in the PO, given our cap situation in the near future, this summer really is the last shot to make a splash while being able to keep the core. If we had 1 more star this PO, we would've beaten Indy, and possibly Boston with OG likely returning later in the series, regardless of all the injuries.

I think Leon has to make as many calls as possible to see what's out there. Opportunity will come and the team is ready.
That being said...I hope the front office doesn't fall into the super team trap. This roster as constructed can go far if healthy, but depth needs to be addressed. I don't put the onus on Thibs playing guys heavy minutes but it's undeniable that the team needs at least 10 guys Thibs will trust playing.
-Add depth via MLE, draft, vet minnies. No more playing guys 48 minutes.
-Use assets to explore a trade but do not gut the team to do so. Mitch/Bojan is a large cap slot. I don't go any further than that unless it's Giannis or someone of that level.
-resign Hartenstein, OG. Do due dilligence on Precious and Burks.

I wonder if the Suns would go for a Booker for Randle trade?
Theoretically, it kinda makes sense for both teams, Randle fits better next to Beal/KD than Booker and Booker next to Brunson than Randle
Either that or Butler, I know he's old and not a great shooter, but the guy absolutely delivers in the postseason and him and OG would be perfect to defend Brown/Tatum since you gotta go through Boston these days.

There is a zero % chance of that happening lets be real.

I think we will be good if we just make minor moves, but keep in mind that teams like the Bucks and Sixers will be better next year.

This is the question I constantly keep asking my buddy about. He thinks any player, even Giannis, can just pick up the phone and ask out. I think there is a legit chance we stand pat, with a minor move for a legit backup PG. I don't think Rose is going to make a trade just to make it. He could have done that already with the Mitchell trade. Not sure who can possibly ask out that would make sense for us to get.

Why do you think the Sixers will be better? Embiid is still the same guy and he is not gonna age well.
Bucks have an old Lillard who is only going to get worse.

I hope you're right. Giannis will be back for Milwaukee, and I guess Philly is dependent on Embiid, but they're also going to have some cap room to play with.

Mikal is a nice fit but he isn't a star, if we can get him for a reasonable price though I would take him. I like Paul George but he is quite old and also injury prone.
Demar and Ingram are not guys who fit this team tbh and I don't think they are winning places.

Run it back. I'm excitedly awaiting the next 2nd round defeat. Feels good to be the early 90s Cavs

Maybe tweak the bench. I do like a bench of Josh, Mitch, Deuce, and Bog. I also think a true backup to JB is less important with Josh coming off the bench because he can ball handle. Caruso is someone that can fit into this team. Brogdon will always be on my radar. Hard to say if his injuries were legitimate or tank related.

Resign iHart and OG. Pick up Tyus Jones in FA. S&T DeRozan (not sure how - a package of Bogs and picks?). Draft picks and such for 3rd string depth.
Thibs would have to learn from Carlisles book to utilize his bench but thats a deep squad.
Mitch/iHart
Randle/Hart
OG/Divo
DeRozan/McBride
JB/Tyus

I think they need to add a decent backup PG. Mcbride is a good player but he can't run an offense yet.
I also think they should make a legit run at Mikalif he is available. If not maybe see if Trey Murphy in NO is available instead.
