Nobody knows why the Knicks all the sudden are unlikely to sign Hartenstein.

We should never hear about two teams not being able to work together after the OG and Mikal trades.

IF... CAA's Jaren Jackson Jr. requests a trade to the Knicks... like Bridges did...

Randle / Robinson ---> JJJ / Smart (+ some of the picks below)

My crystal ball was telling me Bridges + JJJ would be the big moves. Let's see what happens.

What if it’s Danny Ainge as the Nets GM

I think we are hard-capped into the first apron (178M) for now (outgoing higher than ongoing). But if we include more salary in the trade, we become hard-capped into the second apron (188M) because of the aggregation of salaries.

Let me go on record as saying that I’m down with the team as it stands. Randle included.

According to the user Scott, we have to count the bonus as well into the hard cap.

Randle (29M + 2,8M Bonus), OG (38M expected), Mikal (23,3), Brunson (25M), Hart (18,1M), IHart (16,5M expected), Mitch (14,3M) Donte (11,5 + 0,7 Bonus), Deuce (4,7M).
Total 183,9 (9 players)
Full roster (plus 6 2M players in the better scenario) = 196M

We are already hard capped into the first (178) or into the second apron (188M).

sign me up for JJJ

Ihart was getting cooked by a hobbled ass Embiid. we gonna need a big who can actually defend the Embiids, Giannis of the worlds

Ihart is great but if he tryna get the bag...idk if i'm willing to pay

Donte is a sixth man now but I love this shoot you to death lineup too:

Brunson
DDV
Bridges
OG
Randle

What a f*ing team! If OG is injured again, we’re still loaded.

Doesn't matter anymore really. Philly will have to make a major upgrade...all-star territory to even sniff a chance against us....next year we'll be returning back with Bridges and Randle in the playoffs....:D

I'm not worried about the sixers but they do have money to spend so they will be improved
JJJ is still a major upgrade defensively.

I'm not sure if its even possible. But its def a move that would make us championship contenders

After what he did to that franchise with the Garnett, Pierce trade? I think it might be ok to say never when talking about the possibility of Brooklyn hiring Ainge as the GM.

this trade shouldn't impact it at all. the report was about other teams making him a top target and offering him money we can't match and he can't turn down. which does seem out of nowhere.

i'm curious from the cap/CBA experts. can the knicks delay making this deal officially official to prevent them being hard capped or anything like that - to allow them to make other deals etc

if anything i think this trade solidifies the knicks are done with big fishing and should be OK going over the aprons to keep everyone and extend brunson/randle etc.

That’s what I came away with. Also in regards to IHart it doesn’t change anything. Those teams either make that deal or not. At least the Knicks can honestly pitch the idea if he stays they are a legit contender next year.

Because "The sky is falling" is great clickbait. Especially if it's Knicks related. Also the loser narrative of trading picks that won't be top tier since this team will be a perennial title contender.

IHart gonna sign a 2 year deal, OG gonna sign for 4. We good.

It’s gonna be really important that OG signs a flat or declining deal.
