Re: Welcome to the Knicks Tyler Kolek
I know he’s likely not gonna be on the main team, but he could be. He’s a confident leader, efficient scorer, really passes the eye test as a finisher and general.
He was fun to watch at Marquette (I live in Milwaukee), so this was something I’d been hoping would happen for a while.
He’s VERY MUCH a Thibs player, I’d wager.

This could end up being a very underrated selection. I’ve watched Kolek a lot and he is a gamer. A real bulldog. TJ McConnell with a jumper.

He could make the main roster. He is ready now. He is physically strong. He was an upperclassman. He is experienced. He is a Thibs type player.

Good job, only 2 or 3 people here would get that reference.

I wonder if this potentially closes the door on Rokas for us.

Probably. We should trade him to somebody who can use him for like nine second rounders in the 50s.

Re: Welcome to the Knicks Tyler Kolek
I'm not sure how his game will translate to the pros but I liked what I saw from him in college and i'm glad the Knicks grabbed a guy with more traditional point guard skills. With the addition of Mikal and re-signing OG i'm still not sure who can run the offense when Brunson sits. It doesn't hurt to have another option on the roster. He may never crack the rotation but I like the pick especially in the second round.

As fun as Rokas looks, Tyler seems like a way more realistic prospect to actually make the team and play a role. Not a knock on Rokas, but it’s gonna take some cash and a commitment of time to bring him over…and we don’t have either.

Re: Welcome to the Knicks Tyler Kolek
Very solid pick in the 2nd. He’s a guy we could look back a few years from now and ask how the hell did he fall to the 2nd round?

He's DEFINITELY a Thibs player. He's the backup PG.
