The Knicks cut Charlie Brown Jr., Dwayne Washington Jr., and DaQuan Jeffries. They kept brother Toppin presumably for his size on a 2 way contract.
https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nba/knicks-refine-roster-by-cutting-bait-with-three-top-prospects-resigning-pf-talent/The end of the roster last year looked a bit too much like a developmental league team. I'm fine with this and I'm happy to have some rookies on the team. Still some spots to fill. Uncertain if Dadiet & Hukporti come stateside this year.

What does this mean for our cap?

Good cause we probably had the worst roster in the league at the end of the bench. None of those guys were trusted to play. Hopefully this draft class and whoever we sign for the minimum/2 way are a little better.

I think DaQuan jeffries would have counted 2 million against the cap, so cutting him was the obvious move, unless they were going to use him in a trade.
The others are vet minimum on the cap, so they'll just be replaced by other vet minimum deals. It means very little. The roster still needs to be filled and the vet minimums will count 1 million against the cap.

The end of our bench was comically bad. I know that they're rookies, but right now I trust McCullar & Kolek more than any of those 4 players mentioned in the article. Dadiet is young, so maybe not yet. Not sure about Hukporti right now.

Yeah, after the 8 spot, it's like we just have a bunch of g leaguers.

I think the days of those are over. Market is really inflated so even vets that would normally ring chase for a vet mininum/mMLE are now getting sizeable contracts.

Min Salary Rookies can count as 1,157M on the books.
Min Salary Third-year vets and beyond count as 2,087M on the books. (despite the real salary can vary to protect the vets)
