DAMN, DAMN, DAMN!!!
Johnnie Bryant To Be Associate Head Coach In ClevelandJuly 6th 2024 at 4:51pm CST by Arthur Hill
Knicks assistant Johnnie Bryant will become Kenny Atkinson‘s associate head coach with the Cavaliers, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski (Twitter link).
Bryant, who has been on Tom Thibodeau’s staff for the past four years, was still under contract in New York, so he had to get approval from Knicks ownership before he could accept the new job, sources tell Ian Begley of SNY (Twitter link). Begley notes that Bryant interviewed for the head coaching job in Cleveland and has a strong relationship with Donovan Mitchell, whom he previously coached in Utah.

Maybe this is why they're bringing in Maurice Cheeks.

It’s gonna happen more if the Knicks become more successful.

it’s actually a promotion i think, he’s not he’s assistant coach on the cavs rather than just another assistant here

He was associatr head coach too... same role 100%
Only he might have more possibility for a HC job because Kenny has more chances of getting fired than Thibs... but even that its not a given

Probably got a raise and the opportunity to be back with his guy, Donovan Mitchell.

Would have liked to see what he could do with Pac-Man and Kolek cuz he’s the guard and wing whisperer but oh well.

They really thought he’d replace Tom “here forever and you’ll like it” Thibodeau . Nice try Johnnie!

Smfh, f these dudes man. Get close to a chip and they all want to leave. F them.
Gotta find a young guy to help. Can’t have all these old heads. Johnnie was on Thibs hip.
This is ass, this is why people said slow yoour role bc teams change year after year.

We’re good, Thibs keeps the bench stacked. One example, I really liked Dice coaching in Summer League.

Aller's def next if he gets the right sitch. He is way too great with the salary cap for some team not to try and poach him.

Aller is MUCH too valuable to ever let leave. If I were Leon, I'd have a standing offer to pay him 5-10% more than any offer he ever gets.

Whatever you are offered, we will pay you more. The only thing that is acceptable when it comes to Aller. He is worth every penny of Dolan's money.
