Low key think Precious will be our starting center until Mitch returns

In this timeframe that Precious was starting for us, we went 8-10 (GAME 47 TO GAME 64).
I don't blame him for the poor team performance. But maybe his intangibles were not that good.
By the way, it's not uncommon for mediocre players to have excellent stats during short stretches when they get inspired/pumped by a big opportunity. Then, his minutes and stats went downhill and no team gave him more than a 6M/y contract in Free Agency.
I think he can be very useful to us this season. But its not healthy to expect too much from him.

Precious is a good 18-min stop gap type player. Hopefully he can reach a higher level.
I think we go 18 mins Precious, 14 mins Sims, and then 16 mins Randle at small ball Center. This opens up more minutes for guys like DDV, Hart, and McBride as OG and Mikal will be playing more minutes at the 4/3 positions.

He was playing power forward next to Ihart in most of those games. The Raptors already tried to use him as a fulltime C and it did not go well.

Precious at the 5 might not work but idk if you can point at those games and conclude it won’t work. He was starting when OG, Randle, Mitch, and Ihart were either out or severely limited though. A lot of those games we were playing 2 big line ups with nightmare spacing. Probably had more to do with them playing below .500 than anything precious was doing. It’s probably a miracle that we even went 8-10 with all those injuries.

Watching the lunch time KFTV and Katz is the guest and he’s saying the Knicks are targeting December/January for Mitch and not that he will be back around then. Which reads to him that it’s possible that it could go later. Basically his rehab hasn’t gone as expected and he isn’t progressing in the same way as it should be expected.

I don't think we're underestimating Precious...but people are sleeping on how much having Mikal/OG/Randle back should make up for missing Hartenstein. I realize the hole at Center is obvious, but Precious should be just fine since everyone else in the rotation is going to be an uplifting player; and the bench should crush a lot of opponents. Deuce/Donte/Hart is a hell of a trio to go against back-ups.

Glad the Knicks let iShart go and let Okc pay large money for him, because if we apply the logic to iShart that is being applied to Precious, iShart basically has had like 1\2 a good season with the Knicks and will revert to that 5 and 3 guy he's been his whole career before the Knicks blew up his minutes for less than a season because Mitch is fat and lazy

No and I think he’s probably overrated by fans if anything
But he can be a serviceable backup

True but we also didn't have OG during a lot of that stretch.

Or Bridges.
We are deeper than that team everywhere. Even at center ironically.
