Welcome to the Knicks James Nnaji

2 2nd rounders from NY (one from Mini), and 3 soon to be cut cap fillers (DaQuan Jeffries, Charlie Brown, and Duane Washington Jr) should complete the KAT trade. Thank you Charlotte.
Nnaji was a young pick last year, the youngest in the draft prospect. 7 footer with a 7'5 wingspan, currently playing in spain. Knicks love those foreign players. He's still just 20. Maybe some upside, but probably nothing.
Overall, not bad. We gave Charlotte very little to get this deal done.

He's recovering from spinal surgery, but he sounds promising. Only 20.

Very little? We traded three second round picks.

I remember when we used to get excited for players like Frank and Knox just because they were only 20 years old.

He was a bench big backing up Jan Veslý and Willy Hernangómez. Probably got him because he’ll play overseas and we won’t have to pay him.

He is not a 7 footer. He is about 6'10 but his wingspan is crazy.

We didn't trade a key player. Picks don't bother me. and just 2.

Nnaji reminds me of a young, raw Clint Capella. They have the same physical profile and wingspan. He needs to develop more of a back to the basket game but as a roller and rim protector, they are very similar. We could look back on this piece in a few years and admire another fleece job by Leon and Co.

Nnaji is averaging less than 6 minutes a game for Barcelona. He is behind Vasely and Willy in the rotation.

Willy Hernangomez grew up in the Spanish league and they are very partial to their own,

Most likely case is he plays out this year at Barcelona and he has a small buyout allowing him to come in next season if he still doesn't have an expanded role. The Knicks can at least give him extended minutes in the G-League to develop while spending time with the main roster.

I am surprised Charlotte just threw him in here. They traded 2 second round picks to move up and draft him last year at 31.

Also known as "very little" or "a 1 in 7462 shot at Michael Redd"

Could one of or all of the following:
He is recovering from back surgery and they want their picks back
He doesn't wanna come to the NBA and they want their picks back
He sucks and they want their picks back

I heard 9’4” but yeah. He’s a project with upside in a couple years. We’ll still need some bench help this season.
