OT: Political thread

Post#1 » by Hatrick Ewing » Fri Oct 4, 2024 6:38 am

Would like to have a respectful, free speech discussion where everyone's opinions are respected.

Also for fun, post what you think our players stats might be in the playoffs this year if you prefer!

Did he say anything that wasn't a lie? Just asking. Was there a single true thing he said all night? Or, during his entire presidency so far?

I hope most voters are even 1/10th as disgusted as I am. This is a travesty.

just my 2 cents.

I know people don't want to talk about politics, but you asked, and this is my take. What's happening is disgusting.

Oh look, the first political thread in Knicks land since Trump won in November. Almost like all the libs who calle me and a majority of the American voting block nazis couldn’t stand to talk about it more after they so clearly lost the faith of the public.

I thought it was great and inspirational. and was absolutely DISGUSTED by the petulant, sore losing, cold democratic side not clapping for a single clearly American centric thing. Not for boys wjth cancer. Not for Laken Riley’s family, or countless others.

Fortunately, the republicans more than made if for it and was truely a celebration of the greater political comeback of all time.

Meanwhile guy above can’t point to a single thing instead of just blanket stating “did he say one true thing?” GTFO with that childish take. We’re done with it.

in less than two months we’ve witnessed the deliberate dismantling of NATO, US-Mexico-Canada Agreement, and the federal government. Americans being fired for no cause by a ketamine using billionaire. The real risk of stagflation happening due to inflation still increasing alongside stagnation and unemployment growing. Measles outbreaks happening in America. America openly aligning itself with a dictator. Plus a quid pro quo deal made with our very own corrupt mayor…..

All that and you’re doing a victory lap over a bad speech?

There isn’t much to say but I rather come here and talk about basketball as the world burns and I am pretty sure this sentiment is shared by others, you don’t have to do the same, but don’t insult our intelligence by acting like anyone is scared.

I think what's childish is bringing out that kid as a prop while at the same time cutting cancer research.

Political debates are the reason why I got hounded from of another Knicks forum, so perhaps it would be prudent not to try to repeat the experience.

Plus, the recent political news flow has been so bizarre and disconcerting, that I find a basketball forum better used as a sanctuary from all that. Yeah, I know that reality will soon catch up to all of us, but what's the point of ruminating and worrying about the inevitable?

This is a sports forum. Most of us come here to escape the craziness of the world to engage in Knicks conversations. If you want to discuss politics, please go to a political forum. Let's close this thread and get back to talking sports.

People who never have the time to post in a hoops thread on the Knicks forum immediately emerge to post on a political thread here. And they are all of a specific orientation.
