ESPN BPI rates the Knicks 19th

Not a typo. ESPN saw the results of their model showing the Knicks as a play-in team and rather than tweak the model they actually published that drivel. The model says the Knicks will finish 2 wins above the Bulls and they have a smaller chance of making the finals than teams like the Heat, Rockets and Clippers.

One day people will figure out espn purposefully does things like this to generate traffic.

The only thing espn is good for is it provides a decent GUI to track standings, schedules and game logs.

Guarantee they will do the same thing with player rankings and throw Brunson between 10 and 30 when he was 4th in mvp voting.

BSPN's anti-NY bias will be more harm than good.
They are losing credibility each time.

Mind you, as far as I know, BPI takes into account expected games played and between KAT, OG and Mitch, they will miss a combined 255.

ESPN doesn't watch games.

I know they are real people working for ESPN, trying to put food on the table, but god damn, if something happens to this abomination of a corporation, I will be smiling.

Only thing that matters is Vegas.

They influence how games are officiated.

BPI does expected minutes. The article points out that for example they only have KAT playing 1700 minutes for us. It also assumes every team wants to win so they play their best players the most minutes when we all know that's not true.

Ironically I'm working on a study right now looking at how last two minute calls differ when betting lines are tighter. I'll be presenting it in February at the EEA conference in NY. Hopefully the Knicks will be in town. Seeing them in Memphis and Chicago isn't the same.

We are going to win 55 plus games and if we are healthy, we are winning it all!

I would love to see your findings. I've long suspected that NBA refs officiate based on the spread.
