Huk needs to take the job if he wants it. He hasn't really done that but, he has looked better than Sims in limited minutes. Sims has familiarity in the system and this is his chance to shine. If not, we have his replacement on the roster already.

I think people are forgetting how bad Deuce was whenever he got playing time before we extended him. He had to get developed down in the G league for 2 years to reach this level.

He had a bad shooting percentage but he was playing good D. It was a safe bet that more time, he'd improve his shooting.

I'm not sure how 2nd round pick salaries work, but I think Huk is locked in for 2 years, then he's a restricted free agent. That's a long time to keep him on the bench and a hard secret to keep from other teams. I'm not sure I buy this theory.

I buy the trying to trade Sims theory more.

Yeah. Team option for the second year. It does seem too long to try to keep him under wraps.

Huk played well that one game but like he even said himself, he still needs a lot to improve on. There's no urgency to rush his minutes considering the Knicks are all in, and not in development stage.

If Sims plays bad, I can see Hukporti taking his minutes but the Knicks have invested years into Sims so they're giving him his chance to shine. I'm all for bringing him in along slowly and build good habits.

this has been my thought.

also, sims really hasn't been trash and we haven't seen the holes in hukporti's game yet. yesterday he showed why it's important to remember that rooks are rooks.

he'll get his time. season just started. i'm looking forward to him having an increased role, but we fans can be impatient. i also hope he's not turned on just as quickly when his rookie moments happen.

lastly, probably not the worst thing in the world to bring a player with his injury background (achilles tear) along slowly.

No, there's really no such thing as depressing value in the NBA. Look at some of the contracts guys have gotten for potential, if he's playing well in limited minutes someone will notice and pay him accordingly.

What’s crazy is our low turnovers considering it’s a pretty new group of players but besides the excellent efficiency scoring the ball we are 2nd in the league with the fewest turnovers. Really have been taking good care of the ball
