I've said it for a few seasons now, but when the shots aren't falling there's absolutely no structure for a Thibs coached group to fall back on to prop them back up. It's just, "go do that elementary stuff we practice and let your talent shine". Don't adjust, don't shift gears, just keep spamming what we always do, relying on the talent to break through.

Luckily for us this team is overflowing with talent, but nights like this are the reason why I don't feel confident with the way this team is coached, and why I worry about what happens against the best teams and coaches. If a 3-12 team can do this so repeatedly and relentlessly for 48 minutes, the best will meticulously exploit it.

Defensive big next to Towns (Mitch, someone via trade, etc) and Bridges off the bench?

Atrocious defense. Gotta do some soul searching.

Also:

Lets run the slowest paced offense in the NBA and then pair it with a defensive system that gives up massive volume of high-quality looks from three point range!

Even if the shots aren't falling, this team has too much talent to allow 50% plus shooting from deep from a bad team like the Jazz.

Stop the drop coverage. Switch. I don't care if someone wants to post up Brunson or Hart

Really weird that Sims had only 9 minutes. He seemed like our most effective player today. We went on runs with him.

He, OG, and Payne showed up today. Sometimes Hart. That's about it.

Letting the jazz shoot 56% from 3 cause you're worried about kesslers post game is trash. We have a thibs problem

We went on the run mostly bc Markannen and Kessler were sitting tho. Not saying Sims didn’t play well but those guys sat and we strived.

This team just isn’t built to be able to win when the starters don’t defend and 3 out of the 5 have a terrible shooting game (Brunson, Towns, and Bridges).

Also, we cut an 18 pt lead down to 2, then Brunson and Bridges started jacking up some terrible shots and allowed the lead to balloon again.

We do play too damn slow, and we play small. Old man ball WTF... Towns and Brunson were way off tonight... OG and Hart were excellent. MIkal man..I cant defend you tonight. Poor shooting is just.... :nonono: but even more infuriating are the lazy passes and the weak finishes. Its pretty obvious he is scared sh itless of contact under the basket.

Players have to step up their games. Mikal’s playing like a punk. Not fighting over screens. Not being physical. Thibs needs to put a foot in his azz.

Hart needs to maintain his focus. A handful of stupid turnovers every game.

We need Deuce back pronto. Need the added toughness of him and Precious

missed many threes from our big 3 (at least 7-8 by their season averages)
no spirit and energy
Thibs cant run sets other from what they usually run and practice usually
we need our Knickstape brenc mobs in Achiuwa, Deauce, Shamet and Mitch
and we miss Bryant and Di Vincenzo much more than you think

He was +19. He’s been playing really well since the Hukporti game served as a wake up call for him.

he legit only knows how to coach one way and has zero adaptability with his schemes.

he would rather give up a wide open 3 then have a small on a big man when more than half the times the bigs in this league don't even post up or are a threat to score in the post.

Awful shooting night. OG was incredible but everyone else was just flat. They settled for way too many 3s and didn’t look to exploit a bad defensive team that fouls frequently. Besides the bad shooting and settling for outside shots the sloppy passes too just signaled a lack of focus and energy. Will see if they get up to play Denver next game

Two offensive sequences killed us:

• We cut the lead down to 2 pts and had all the momentum. Knicks steal the ball and come down court on a 2-on-1 fast break. Brunson throws an alley to Mikal too late and off-line and Mikal missed what would’ve been a game-tying dunk

• Knicks cut the lead to 4 points and gain possession and are on the break, Mikal pulls up for a terrible 3 above the break (a shot he hasn’t been able to hit all season) and bricks it
