All things Hukporti here.

This video is brought to you by … Ariel Hukporti, I think. Or his agent.

Excellent statistical breakdown on him though clearly on a small sample size.

Is there any video analysis of those games he played 1 minute?

All those stats are included in the analysis. Duh! He’s only played 2 games over 1 minute.

With Sims being traded and Dolan's blessing hopefully he will survive the trade deadline.

There have been quite a few Centers picked in the 2nd round that turned out pretty good. Here is to hope we found a good one late in the draft. I'm usually not someone to get intrigued easily but I see some potential here to be a solid backup or 3rd stringer. Like someone that can come in and give you 8points/7rebounds/1block with good energy and defense. With OG out, Sims gone and Mitch probably returning after the all-star break, he has another 3 games coming up where he could be looking at 15-20 minutes to further prove his ability.

Nice thing about Hukport is that the ball doesn't stick. He gets the ball and makes pretty quick decisions, usually good ones. Some of early games some of the passes were sloppy and got picked off but that's probably adjusting to the NBA/any young player stuff.

Feels like a sign of good scouting and team building as the Knicks identified talent, but also a system style, one they've been working towards over the last few years.

Team oriented, cut well, fundamentally sound, ball doesn't stick, above average passing for the position, willing defender, willing to accept a role, not hogging the ball\bad shot selection, plus outside shooter (less important for the bigs but they absolutely wanted a stretch 5), multi positional ability on offense and/or defense, when they can get it

These seem to be who the Knicks seek out.
Not every guy works out or is talented enough to succeed, but most of these attributes exist in players they've signed, traded for or drafted

Brunson
Hart
Divo
IQ
OG
Precious
Grimes
Deuce
KAT
Bridges
Dadiet
Kolek
Hukporti
McCullars
Payne (minus shot selection)
Shamet

They have a type.

Happy Huk would see time. Man’s already cool with Dolan.

I've been pissed all year that Thibs has for the most part regulated Hukporti to the bench. He should have had Jericho's minutes the entire time getting real game experience. Hopefully we now get to see him shine a bit more. Love his energy.

Welp, he better be good. Sims is gone and the Knicks essentially have no bench, so time to deliver.

55 minutes in!? Did you get the extended version?

But yeah if Huk can keep fulfilling that potential Mitch days could be numbered. But if Mitch can do what he does while healthy, he'll get a us a very nice bench piece in return.....

There has to be some appreciation of Hukporti inside the organization. It is pretty clear they fluffed Sims numbers enough to ship him out. Until then, Huk was on standby.

Hoping Thibs continues to give him 8-12 minutes a game while bringing along Mitch (oh who am I kidding? Mitch will be playing 38 minutes within 3 games)

love what i'm seeing from hukporti, but i can't see minutes being there when mitch returns.

i imagine KAT can play as little as 24 minutes at the 5, leaving a max of 24 backup minutes available. gotta think those belong to mitch.

i don't think mitch plays more than 24mpg. he is playing whatever KAT leaves behind at the 5. if KAT plays even 10 backup minutes at the 4 alongside mitch, that's damn near all the backup 4 minutes from OG. (you might even have the luxury of getting mitch up to 28mpg and have more KAT at the 4 and less OG overall.)

any way you slice that 4/5 situation up, precious is out of the 9-man rotation, let alone hukporti.

bench rotation players will have to be mitch, deuce, cam, and the best wing you've got. shamet? delon might have a shot to show something. dadiet and mccullar might be more next year ideas.
