I like Beauchamp and hope we can keep him around. Long, athletic wing who has very good instincts on defense and knock down some shots.

I'd never heard of him, but I'm reminded of the line from Moneyball. "If he's a good hitter, why doesn't he hit good?" That said, if he brings more to the table than Matt Ryan or the brother Toppin, I'm all for this kind of move.

he's 6'7 with a 7 foot wingspan we just don't have a lot of size at our wings outside of OG. So I get it.

That guy said, as a two-way player, Beauchamp isn't eligible for the playoffs.

I asked my friend google and 2-way contracts can be converted to regular contracts in which case, the player becomes playoff eligible, as long as it's done before the final game of the season.

So, unless there's some type of salary cap issue, the Knicks could convert his contract to a regular contract and make him playoff eligible. As to whether he earns bench minutes or not, only time will tell.

It’s a fair assessment. I think he could still develop into a reliable catch and shoot player. The three isn’t broken. One of the reasons he struggled with the bucks is they wanted him to put it on the floor more and he is better as a catch and shoot, transition scoring, cutting wing. He’s joining one the best development teams in league with the Knicks coming from the bucks who mostly haven’t given a damn about development under Doc and a couple of weeks in LA sitting on the bench.

I say that to say this low key he is one of the better prospects they got in recent history who was waived from his team. Marjon is a lot like his former teammate Dyson Daniels where both team depth and team scheme did him no favors early in his career.

But is he better than Okeke and TJ Warren? Those are the two wings that were speculated on a lot, then this Marjon guy is signed outta the blue

Neither of those guys could be signed to a 2 way deal. Has to be under 4 years of NBA service.

Do the Knicks only have money for a 2-way deal or could they have fit a vet minimum deal and stayed under the 2nd apron? I know we have some cap experts here. I don't remember if you're one of them.

At this point, past the deadline, what happens if they sign a player and go over the 2nd apron? I'm not sure how that would affect them, since 1) they don't have a draft pick and 2) I think it resets in the off-season, but maybe there is a negative affect I'm not aware of.
