Can any of these guys play in the postseason? Or just depth signings

Two way players are not playoff eligible. They have to be promoted to a regular roster spot to play in the postseason.

This is a development signing, and in this case quite a bit of development is needed.

I've seen Watson play with Maine several times. He isn't a pure wing. He's more of an undersized big man with some wing skills, but not enough length and mobility, or a good enough outside shot.

Watson has good instincts and is not without talent, but he's undersized for his position, is not particularly energetic, and doesn't shoot the three well enough. I don't want to bury the guy, and hope he develops, but he has quite a ways to go to be an NBA contributor.

I would describe him as an interesting but average G league rotation player at this time.

Technically, both Watson & Beauchamp could play in the playoffs if they're both given full contracts by the final game of the season, but it makes sense to give them a look first and see if either player earns it.

EDIT - Watson was waived by the Celtics March 2nd, so he might not be playoff eligible.

The Knicks still have an open roster spot, so this is just depth and more youth at this point.

Moses is back in Westchester, but no official NYK contract, just on a G-league deal.

The Wolves, I think, signed TJ to a 10 day contract, so he's no longer playoff eligible for any team other than Mini.

Moses might be eligible, depending on when the Mavs released him. Not sure.

and again, I don't know if two way or 10 day deals after March 1 makes a player ineligible for playoffs for another team. Maybe TJ is still playoff eligible if the Wolves release him.

Should have signed Anton LaVey

Could have helped Leon Rose make certain deals for a championship

Celtic board discussed him at length. 23 when drafted, so he's more of a floor pick than upside. Late 2nd round, Apparently solid on defense, iffy shooter. I don't hate this move. I could see him playing a role on this team if he becomes a Thibs player, but I'm not sure he's even playoff eligible, as he was waived after March 1, but waived from a 2-way contract, so maybe he is.

I like him better than Jacob Toppin, so that's something.

The funniest part of this video is this is a remake. The original video is actually much more vulgar.

Knicks Sign Anton Watson (waived by Celtics)

I looked in the Trades/Transactions thread but didn't see any posts covering this. We signed him out of the Celtics G league team in Maine. He, like Beauchamp, can shoot the ball. He has some defensive upside too. Watson was selected near the end of the 2nd round, out of Gonzaga, in the '24 draft.

Maybe we waive Delon Wright and sign Moses Brown?

I like they are getting more wings. We’re a little thin there.
