Spoiler:
This is it. A thread where derailments aren't derailments. They're the whole point. Where posters can freely fight about players that aren't on the team anymore and litigate old trades without the wagging finger of pesky mods.
Welcome to Hamsterdam fight thread. If you don't like fight thread, don't come to fight thread. To that end, everything that happens in fight thread stays in fight thread aka the first rule of fight thread is you don't talk about fight thread.
This thread will be lightly moderated but general decorum of not slurring each other or going extra on personal attacks apply. If you have to come to us with anything that happens here it should be done only with great shame. Except political trolls. Get 'em out. That said, mods will be more vigilant board wide going forward about keeping discussions that belong in fight thread contained in fight thread.
All that out of the way? 3-2-1 FIGHT!!!!!

Grimes breaking out kinda hurts. We could really use a wing who could do that.

I have a hard time blaming Thibs for Grimes. He pulled Reddish and Fournier for him and was constantly telling him to be more aggressive. Grimes maybe just took a minute to come into his own.
Maybe what he really needed was a situation where he couldn't default to deferring. Right now, he's the man.

Obi went crazy in OT.
timberwolves should have challenged in the end of regulation the out of bounds - they were up 2 and would have gotten the ball and likely won. big screw up there no idea why they didn't.

it's kind of funny that despite the constant trolling between all parties, every single player we've traded away is balling out tbh.

they werent used to the new york pressure cooker when they were here....now that they are on lesser markets and the attention is not on them, its as if the weights were lifted off from their ankles, figuratively.

First, and most importantly, Cam Reddish still sucks.
Otherwise:
Obi had a good game but is basically what he always was. A decent bench player who can occasionally start Randle is playing give or take like he did for us after slow starts RJ has played well but Raps fans wondering if he can be a long term piece Then there's Quick. I'm bummed for him. He can't stay healthy in Toronto for long enough to establish any sort of rhythm.
Grimes is the only one who I'd say is legit breaking out from where he was with us.

It’s that time of the year when random bench players go off for big games.

I'm not losing sleep over Grimes, but it does feel like Leon/Thibs might've misread what he could do for us. I get that he wasn't really happy with the limited role he eventually had. I also get the Sixers are tanking and it's late in the season. But we already knew he was a pure shooter with some playmaking ability. Would be nice to have that off the bench right now. Oh well.

Just a reminder that a team with Donte would have no room for Grimes. Now, if I had a choice between Grimes and Deuce, I'd pick Grimes 9 times of 10.

Jericho Sims remains quite inept. For completeness.
