Now that the stage is set, what are your predictions? How do they match up against us, any chance they can cause upset?



I think we get by, but they have a lot of physicality which can tire us for Celtics next while Cs have a cakewalk. In the end Pistons wont have the firepower to match us imo

I would say lock up Cade with OG to limit all the creativity they have but they will just run a PnR to get him off and attack on Brunson - KAT

Are you rooting for a loss so that Thibs gets canned? If Michael Malone - Taylor Jenkins are the replacement I don't think things would really improve, we needed someone like Kenny Atkinson - Johnnie Bryant to freshen things up. I doubt Thibs go if they go out against Celtics so losing against Pistons may be the only chance

Knicks in 5. Detroit fans talking **** seems unreasonable to me. You'd think after being the bootlick of the league for the last 6 years they'd be humble.

Pistons aren’t a good team, they just play hard. We’re a more talented team but lack the execution and the toughness.

Could go either way. I got Pistons in 6 tho.

I think Boston ends up playing Orlando. I wouldn't sleep on them if I were Boston. They are similarly physical.

Cade has torched us all season long...I am begging Tom to watch some film and develop some semblance of a strategy on both ends.

You gotta put OG on Cade...anything else would be crazy.

I got the Knicks in 5. We are too talented to lose to the Pistons in a playoff series. With Mitch getting better and better every game I expect us to be able to match their physicality.

I say Pistons take us to the distance to game 7. Tom overplays the starters as usual and we have our typical flat 4th quarter where no one has their legs and we lose. Pistons in 7.

Could go either way. I like our chances based on talent and experience but, I don't trust the game plan.

I don’t have any predictions. All I know is that Brunson is one of the best players in the post season. We don’t know how Cade is gonna be

Knicks in 5 or 6. Should be 5 but Thibs gonna Thibs so we may get to 6.

We should be starting Mitch, Deuce or even Shamet over Hart but Thibs would never…

I would be shocked if we lost a 7 game series to the pistons. I wouldn’t even be sure what to think if it happened lmao.

I was going to say Pistons in 7, but now I’m saying Pistons in 6. I don’t think the Knicks will fight for Thibs. I don’t believe the players want him back next season. They’re tired and worn down, and whatever they have left in the tank, they won’t tap into it. My point is, they’re going to lose this series either way, and if they have a chance to push it further, they won’t even bother.

Don't love this matchup for the Knicks. Brunson just coming back from injury. Doesn't look completely like himself. The Pistons have been one of the best defensive teams since the new year began. Multiple lengthy defenders to throw at JB. We might need KAT to truly dominate his matchup and one of Mikal or OG to give you something for a game or two.

OG is probably the best defender to throw at someone like Cade but the Pistons will likely try to get OG off of him as much as possible. Wouldn't mind throwing different defenders at him just to keep him a little off balance at times but I want to see OG on him primarily unless Mikal shows that he can step up to the challenge.

Hopefully the Knicks can get some stops and get some easier baskets before the defense gets set since I don't have much faith in their half court offense. The Pistons are a pretty young team so that could work to the New York's advantage with this being many of Detroit's players' first experience in the postseason but they don't lack confidence against the Knicks.

I could see the Knicks grinding their way to victory in 6-7 games but I could also see the team falling apart with the way they have played recently and losing in 5. I would have a little more confidence if the team wasn't stumbling into the postseason but hopefully something clicks. Maybe they will play with more effort and energy but they still look like a team that is lost on the court far too often at this point in the season. Not expecting an easy first round victory but we shall see what happens. I just want to see them come out and compete for the full 48 at the very least.

Knicks in 5. Pistons are mid. We actually dodged a bullet avoiding the Bucks as they’re heating up at the right time. If we somehow lost this, Leon should fire Thibs before he gets back to the locker room

Play the two bigs, make Ausar unplayable by defending him with Mitch which forces them to be smaller and give up rebounds or they play two bigs themselves which hurts their offense.
