This is why you never make trades based on emotions or frustrations.

Robinson's injury history is a concern. That is why he is only getting 12 million next year. Which means, if he plays only 35 games next season, he will still be criminally underpaid. Never doubted him for a second.

This was also an easy decision. You don’t give up on a DPOY potential center on a budget contract for no reason. Next we should extend that contract in the summer.

i don't want to be too hyperbolic and say this is THE decision. you know me. it's always more nuanced.

but definitely a MAJOR factor. always felt he would have made a huge difference deep into last year's run. and we're seeing why it was so important to prioritize his health.

this is also why we traded for and maintained KAT at C. so he could hold down the position during the regular season, grow, and be ready to complement mitch (even defensively) as part of a new era big rotation. we've got a lot of flexibility and we've been using it.

With as long as Mitch was out it has to be commended the shape he came back in, I'm not talking 'game shape', I'm referring to his weight. He came back pretty slender, maybe as slim as he has been since before he went through his 'bulk up phase' after his first two seasons.

In addition to helping put less pressure on his ankles it allowed him to become more effective sooner considering he wouldn't have all that much time to ramp up before the playoff. His mobility guarding the perimeter and covering ground has been crucial to his play these playoffs.

There's no lumber to his gait at all, he's back to nimble Mitch. Now if we can get KAT to tone up and trim down a little bit, I've noticed him lumbering and laboring at time these playoffs. It will help him on both ends of the court and again less pressure on legs for a big man.

Its crazy how much difference a rim-runner offensive liability made against a 5 out team that loves to spam threes. We tried to copy their offense signing KAT but Mitch was the game changer.

Credit due to Mitch himself. He's clearly trimmed down and that has allowed him to regain the requisite speed to guard the perimeter in addition to bang down low. He wasn't able to do that as well the past few years.
