Knicks considering Dawn Staley for HC?!?

Here's more information on the NY Knicks and Dawn Staley from Knicks Fan TV:
"Sources tell Knicks Fan TV that South Carolina Gamecocks head coach Dawn Staley was interviewed for the job. Staley is one of the NCAA’s best coaches, with three national titles and two WNBA #1 picks (A'ja Wilson and Aliyah Boston) under her tutelage. She previously coached for Temple University, hence her close relationship with Rick (‘95) and Jalen Brunson."

I would assume maybe they want her to in an asst role. Maybe they are about to make a radical move.

I mean, it's sports so it's prone to hyperbole. What is a 1a? Is that a top 10 player? Top 5 player?

JB, objectively, is not Jokic, not Giannis.
I don't see JB winning an MVP unless he is on a totally stacked and perfect fitting team.

All that being said, on offense, we might be better off with him playing the 2nd fiddle to KAT if we can get KAT to play more efficient. If she is the coach I think she is, then a lot of that "unlocking" media-speak could happen and we could better utilize some of the talent that we have.

I'm sorry but you can't hire someone who only coached women's college basketball and that's it. Not when your goal is to win it all.

There's nothing wrong with interviewing a hall of fame championship coach who knows more about the game than pretty much every man on this forum, let's be real. I'd like to hear her evaluation of this roster too. She knows talent.

I wouldn't wish this job on her though. Not with all the nasty sh*t I have seen being said.

Whoever earns this job will get their head kicked in the moment we go on a two game slide. Nah

That being said it's her call if the offer is made.

I would be embarrassed if the Knicks actually hired her. There is a reason college coaches are not successful. This is another level bc it's a woman. I'm sorry no way this would work out for a NBA team. Especially one that just fired their head coach that was 2 wins away from the NBA Finals. This would make more sense for a team that can afford to take a risk like that. Like a team that is developing or just not good. Seems like a click bait report to me bc it's so ridiculous.

If she was a coach or assistant on the men's team or an NBA team, I'd be fine hiring her but women's college basketball is not high enough for this gig.
