Regular season probably not. They have enough continuity to run through a terrible east.

Playoffs absolutely. I will continue to have zero faith in that squad until they stop getting punked.

That's my thinking. Regular season, sure, they won a lot of games last year and my guess is they'll win more games than us again, but it's the playoffs that count. If we beat them in the playoffs, or if someone else beats them, that's all that matters. We're playoff tested, they aren't. OK, Indy spanked us, but Indy spanked them too.

I ALMOST said "No" but then I remembered JB is damn near the best player in the league, so I gave a "maybe." Sorry KAT stans, his ECF finals performances left me blah. Some good; some vapid.

Garland out beginning of the season and they lost significant bench depth. Meanwhile we get Mitch back from the start, the bench is way better and we have a more creative coach ...

Funny how folks discount Mitch missing so many games last season. We saw his impact during the playoffs.

Now do a poll with Detroit. And then Orlando.

Detroit was not on our level last season...and they lost Hardaway, Shroder, and possibly Beasly. Magic for better but I dont quite see them as a contender yet...well see

Exactly, and that's what matters. Seeding is kinda meaningless. Our squad is more battle tested.

Ty Jerome signed with Memphis.

Orlando is a top 5 defense if healthy and now they have a formidable scoring trio. If healthy, I could easily picture them winning 55 games. They are in great position, they can trade Wagner for a better fitting fit. I actually thought they would considering trading him for a PG (like Garland) but I guess that would severaly impact their defense.

And...he'll miss 60 games next year too

Only this time OG is going down for 30 games also.

People just assuming OG going to play 75+ games every year is wild.

Hoping Brown has an Atkinson - like effect on the Knicks, just by playing more guys and doing things differently. Health is a huge thing though as Buzz said, can we count on another healthy season.

Garland is having toe surgery too right, or has had it. We'll see how he recovers as well

I am going with "about the same"

IMO they need to make some sort of a move to add wing depth, but getting Nance was needed and Ball will actually do a lot for them if he is healthy.

We should have been better than them last year. Atkinson is a great developmental coach, just like he helped Ty Jerome get paid, someone will take a leap for them this year.

Mike Brown will get 50 wins give or take about 4 IMO. The big thing will be Garland aside, who will be the healthier team.

OG had an outlier season in terms of games played, minutes played.
KAT had an obvious knee issue - is that going to be chronic or will the off-season cure it?
Mitch?

Those are probably the biggest questions on our side health-wise.

Of course, my fear is that Mike Brown's system will take the ball out of JB's hands more and he will look pedestrian. It's okay that he becomes more Chauney Billups than lil Kobe. It just will LOOK like a step back because of what we are used to. Probably looking at 22ppg rather than the 26, 28 he had last 2 years.

Yeah he's part of that bench depth that they'll miss.

Yes I agree they will be good, but I dont think theyll be better than us. I dont the'yll be able to guard us under Mike Brown and the improved bench. If they can trade Wagner for a better fitting peice then I start to get more concerned...but even then potion by position we are too much for them IMO.
