Salute to one of the best scorers to ever play the game. Just an generational unguardable force that had a hell of a career. Once a Knick always a Knick. Stamped for life in the hall of fame.

His speech was easily the best speech I’ve heard from an athlete ever, and perhaps one of the best speeches ever. Wish he could have got a ring. But he’s stamped as one off the best ever.

Congrats Melo! Well deserved. Thanks for bringing the cup to western NY and restoring prowess to USA basketball. Wish you'd had the right squad in NYC.

Shoutout to Melo, man. I remember that 42 points game after STAT and Billups went down, warrior.

Nice to see a good guy ex Knick get what he deserves and everybody agrees. Not many who played for us will get this honor.

The 13-14 season he had was so ridiculous, but unappreciated b/c we missed the playoffs
27.4 PPG 8.1 RPG 3.1 APG 1.2 SPG 0.7 BPG
45.2% on 21.3 FGA
40.2% on 5.4 3PA
84.8% on 7.0 FTA
50.3% EFG 56.1% TS
B/W Chandler's injury, Felton turning into the worst PG in the league, JR spiraling - it's pretty amazing we even cleared 35 wins that year.

Even better, we cleared 37 wins and were 1 game from the 8th seed
I really feel the Knicks would have upset the Pacers had they met in the playoffs
Knicks were finally clicking at the end of the season when we went 18 and 6. We had a better squad than the 12-13 season but we just could not overcome the bad start that season
Felton/JR/Melo/STAT/Tyson starting with Prigioni/Shump/THjr as our core reserves honestly could have made the Finals
Spurs would have beat the Knicks probably, but we finished so strong that we could have beat anyone in the East that year!
Makes me sad because Melo absolutely for sure would have gotten his jersey retired with a playoff appearance that year.
Because Phil joined the organization mid-season, I think he wanted the team to actually fail. We had a trade for Kyle Lowry ready to go and I think he nixxed it

I’m still butthurt we missed the playoffs by one game. We made a crazy run to end the season. JR was playing good ball finally, Amare and Melo were clicking. I thought we could make some noise in the post season. Complete waste of Melo’s last year of his prime…

You beat my response to dak

same exact thoughts.
That trade for Lowry tho was in December before Phil came. The reason why it didn’t happen last min was cause Dolan thought we were getting finessed by Masai again. Lowry with Melo that year would’ve probably put us at the top of the east.

!!!
I didn't see this. That's awesome. Melo bringing the title to the 'Cuse was legendary. I don't know if Kiyan has that kind of game but just having that kind of legacy back at SU is exciting.
I will lead with this is also awesome. That said "Carmelo Anthony offered to pay all of Cleanthony Early's entire salary" is mad awkward to read. At least it didn't involve Karl-Anthony Towns as well.
