thanks to everyone who kept the liberty thread popping.
now that they're out, i figure those of us who follow the W can discuss the rest of the road here.
a lynx/aces finals would be box office. two giants on compelling redemption arcs.
can the mercury or fever spoil the script?
4 teams with heart left. should be fun for lovers of tough/physical basketball.

This has Lynx/Aces all over. I have the Lynx in 5 if that happens.
For the semis:
'
Aces-Fever: Aces in 4
Lynx-Mercury: Lynx in 3
I also will say A'ja is building her legend from where the Aces were to start the season to how they ended it.

Fever took game 1 in a big upset. They've snatched home court advantage. Kelsey Mitchell is really something.

Indiana making it to the 2nd round while sustaining absolutely back breaking injuries is something to applaud. Kelsey Mitchell deserves her flowers. If you told me that a CC less Fever would be 2 wins away from the WNBA finals, I would have laughed in your face.

Lynx have too much depth. Dallas trading Dijonai to them was pretty much the end in my opinion, but the games have to be played.
Also, off topic but Sandy getting fired before that idiot posing as a coach in Dallas is honestly shocking to me. Whatever gets Paige to NYC sooner helps though.

If Vegas falls to Indiana I think Phoenix takes it. Knocking out us and the Lynx is an incredible accomplishment.
AT is a flat out basketball savant. And this is with two messed up shoulders.
I've said it before and it rings truer now: Ben Simmons wishes he was a good as Alyssa Thomas. She is what he was supposed to be on the men's side.

yesterday was just ballmageddon for the league. cathy is ****. lol. and they do deserve better.
i thought i was listening before, but this recent conversation has opened my eyes further on the intersections of power and how operations impact both the game and the dignity of the teams.

i mean, imagine if her shoulders worked and she could shoot. she makes no sense. war hero.
the opposite of ben simmons.

phoenix doing the lynx the same way makes sandy's firing even more confusing. phoenix deserves all the respect.
indiana has been an amazing team and story as well. terminator. kept coming no matter what. aces needed their absolute best to put them down. and almost didn't.
death be not proud for them.

I was so crushed when the Sun had to trade her. One of my favorite players in the league, shame we couldn't win a chip with her, so I'm pulling for Phoenix this year
At least we got Saniya Rivers and Aneesah Morrow out of it.

i don't understand how the thomas era sun never got one. they def had enough. on the court. on the bench. i never wanted to see the sun in the playoffs. ever. and thankfully the liberty didn't until we foisted bec allen on you for JJ.
saniya will lead a new era. excited for it. always pulled for them when they weren't facing the libs.
2022 team was a championship roster. stud buds + JJ + bonner + AT was the stuff of nightmares. i privately called them the mohegan monsters. but the aces are a just terrorist organization. that plum/wilson/young draft run was haliburton devil magic. not taking anything away from them or their culture.

Notice how Phee invoked Caitlin, Paige and Angel to deliberately turn their fanbases against the league?
The Queen moves with purpose. Cathy is out of her depth.

I don't think Sandy deserved to be fired. There needed to be changes in how we approach offense and the roster make up, but this year was not her fault. We had no chemistry due to injuries, no wing depth and our rebounding sucked.
And then we ran into a buzz saw with two dead shoulders. Phoenix is legit and I don't think the Aces are gonna enjoy playing them. Especially A'ja

i think more importantly, they're all aligned and in unison against the current administration. we know these women respect each other and work hard to get what they deserve and for that rising tide to lift all boats -- in spite of the W's administrative shortcomings. CC is always measured enough to not be the tip of the spear vocally, but she has the respect of her peers because they're all in on this together and it's obvious there's collective strategy. really really fascinating to watch.
the success of unrivaled really puts pressure on the whole ting.

i'm chicago/phoenix excited for this one.

kah on the other side still looks weird. but i do love it.
satou sabally doesn't look a tiny bit afraid of the moment. this about to be a warzone.
we've had some legendary finals the past handful of years.
