NY is top 3, but in the top 3 are actual lottery picks NY might not get that high... although I hope they get a top 2 pick (and select Rose).

Bingo, they have Jordan as the 3rd overall pick in the 2009 mock draft.

I wouldnt put it pass Thomas to guarantee Jordan our lottery pick if we don't get a top 2 pick.

They also have Bayless going in the 2009 draft. I would not be surprised if some of these freshman stay another year.

if we get the #1 pick and Rose stays for next year, I will cry.

Bayless is coming out this year. Trust me. He's putting up great numbers. He is a lottery pick.

honestly after what happened this summer with oden and his injury, why wouldn't every player come out when they first can if they will be a lottery pick. This isn't the NFL, being #1 doesn't really matter the pay size isn't that much larger, all that matters is the 2nd contract.

Rose would be stupid to turn down the #1 overall pick in the draft. He can't turn that down if he's promised and guaranteed to go top 3.

It's such a tough system...what is in the best interests of the player is nowhere near the best interests of the teams selecting players. A young talent has no incentive to stay in school and develop their game and talent. The NBA should continue to work to raise the age limit for the league as I think it benefits all parties involved.

i also think staying in college raelly helps you mature. i'd like to see a 2 yr rule. but i know it's not happening.

Deandre is going to be a beast athletically. Like I said. Thomas is good at shaping YOUNG talent.

We need an athletic big that can run the floor. If this dude can play C I wouldn't care if he doesn't become an offensive dynamo.

If we dont get the number one pick Im leaning toward Jordan. This dude could be Howard light. If this dude puts on weight its a wrap.

they should change the rules to the way football does it. 3 years before you can enter the draft...curry might actually know some fundemntals had he gone to a year or 2 of college

football and bball are completely different though.

you need those 3+ years to be physically strong enough.

bball you don't need any years to be strong enough (depending on who you are)

Because Draft Express doesn't update their mocks as much as Nbadraft.net. Nbadraft.net does it every week. Draftexpress seems like it does it once a month. THats exactly why I don't take any of their comparisons or projections serious until the end of the year

Sonics fan here. We're not throwing in the towel yet. Once we trade Kurt Thomas for Kwame Brown( to get the Lakers first round pick as well) we are going to be in position to battle you guys tooth and nail for that coveted #2 pick( just behind Minnesota). :D

Somewhat seriously though, what does it say when alot of Sonics fans are starting to get worried that the T-Wolves, Knicks, Grizzlies, and Heat might actually end up worse, thus making the draft not as good as we thought at the beginning of the season.

I'm concerned some coffee crazed Sonics fan( with the stress of the possible relocation) will end up doing a Tonya Harding on Kevin Durant so there wil be no more scorers on Seattle.

But be careful what you wish for. I watched as Seattle picked 3 raw centers with "potential" in 3 consecutive drafts, with none panning out. Seattle basically wasted 3 drafts. Jordan may one day end up being a good NBA player, but the pain of the wait and the uncertainty is a killer for a team. Go with the sure thing if you can.

There's also a complexity to football that demands teaching and learning of a lot of information. Unfortunately, I don't think the need to learn systems or the physical strength requirements are the main reason behind this. Football contracts are non-guaranteed; there is no safety net other than your degree and your wits. There's no "I can always go play in Europe if the NBA doesn't work out."

If you're going to the NFL, you better be ready athletically and mentally. I would LOVE for the NBA to have non-guaranteed contracts.
