Do you forgive him ?

Rose/Crawford
Marbury/Crawford ( cycle)
Artest/Jeff/Balkman
Zach/Lee
Curry/Jeff

I don't want Q or Curry here next year though.

Artest is not coming for the MLE

You sign him to a one year deal that we can match any offer the plan is to keep him and we sign him to his value because teams can do that if the player is restricted I believe.

There is NO way Artest will sign for a one year deal... even to play here. It's either the full MLE package from us, or he finds a better taker.

Artest will come here for the MLE, and I can totally see him making up the lost salary with an And1 deal

LISTEN

Then we pay him his Paper In the off season

We pay say all of the MLE for a one year expiring deal restricted

Then pay him his worth next year.

You mean, you see Artest missing out on the biggest contract of his career, losing 3-5 million a year. Total o ff 15-25 million dollars to go play for a losing team?

In a word - yes. He's THAT crazy.

Uhm, what you're describing is NOT possible. To use ANY part of the MLE (to pay him close to 6MM for one season), we'd need an offer of at least 3 years. It's set in stone in the Collective Bargaining Agreement. And to accumulate his Bird rights, we'd need him to play for us for at least 3 seasons. After season 2, we get his Early-Bird rights and he becomes restricted for us. But to offer him more than the MLE, we'd need his full Bird rights. We could get that if we trade for him. But anyway, he is NOT going to sign a 1 year deal with ANY team this summer... not even us.

Oh

PWNED

But still If I was him I would sign a 1 year deal with us instead of a full MLE

It doesn't work that way bro. Sideshow Bob was a RESTRICTED free agent, so the Cavs could match any offer, and signed him for the offer sheet, so he could be UNRESTRICTED next year. Artest on the other hand plays for the Kings, so we have no rights for him. And he will be a UFA, and that means even the Kings cannot match anything, but they can offer him more then the MLE.

EDIT: Stupid, slow RealGM, I was late, sorry.

If you believe so, go on ahead.
But No one is crazy/stupid enough to turn down 15-25 mil, artest has never had a payday yet, he's not a rich man considering his talent, And Knicks are in no position to win. If they rebuild now, they won't be getting back to the playoffs within Artest's prime.

artest may like nyk, but he, like all players, likes winning more.

Look how long this last "rebuild" has taken...

Puh-leeze. He's not winning a ring in Sacto either. So he may as well play close to home.

Who do you think Sacramento would take in a sign and trade for him?

Maliks short deal since he wants out

Borkman and Nate ?

Well if you listen to most of the Kings fans, Lee, Balkman AND the Knicks unprotected 1st rounder in 2008.

Yep...the same ones that are looking to deal Mike Bibby and Brad Miller for a superstar.

Isiah Thomas would need to do the following to redeem himself.

1- Hire Jerry Colangelo or whomever to be the new GM with Isiah stepping down and taking over draft duties.

2- Buyout Malik Rose and Jerome James yesterday. 24 pts and 27 rebounds this far into the season should never cost you almost $14 million this season.

3- let Marbury be Starbury and have him be the starting SG.

4- Draft and/or acquire a true PG to start at PG.

5- make a fall trade NOW to get a starting PG. Quentin Richardson for Clevelands Eric Snow (JUST AN EXAMPLE) works. Snow is having a horrible year but his contract is one year shorter then Qs.

6- Let Randolph Morris play. Can he honestly be any worse then Rose?

7- If Q isn't traded....Balkman plays more and Q plays less. Just seems like it would work.

So after he does all this AND the team starts playing team basketball....Isiah would redeem himself.
