I miss Trevor Ariza

An athletic guard who can defend well. I like Freddy, but Ariza's not 6'2". Who remembers this one? http://youtube.com/watch?v=gmRJK2EifKY

I wish we kept Trevor Ariza as well, although I do not think he would of made a very good gaurd. His dribble needed some work and his shot needed even more work. I do think we gave him up for pretty much nothing though, and I wish we fully compitted to developing him. Now it seems like we are doing the samething over again with Balkman, and then probably with Chandler too. We'll have them hear, see a little potential, get disappointed that they dont become superstars and save the knicks, and trade them so that they can go somewhere where a team will take the time to nuture and develop their skills.

Has Ariza suddenly turned into a good defender since he left NY? Because I don't remember him being a good defender when he was here. He did hustle but he wasn't a smart defender.

He was a good help defender, but he wasn't nearly as good as Balkman one on one. He doesn't have the footspeed that Balkman does.

I don't think he's much different now, unless he's all of a sudden feathery on his feet.

I strongly believe giving up trevor ariza was a huge mistake. I think it was the beginning of a downward sprial that never seems to end. Sure stephon, eddy, craw, James, etc etc were not very good aquisitions BUT! in that trade we aquired francis that had no business here and then traded his horrible contract for zach randolph which i think we can all agree has no business here at all not sayng hes not a good player but is redundant. Oh and lets not forget the worst of em all Jared Jeffries, straight up he's a bum. If we would have kept the team as is and played through some rough times i really think we'd be singing a different tune this time around, not to say we'd be a 500 ball club but i bet we'd be in the playoff race and not 7 or 8 games off. I like balkman i think he's good but Ariza has potential to be a a good 2nd 3rd and 4th option. He has the ability which has shown thorugh his improvement in orlando and now in LA. He plays team ball, good defense, and is exciting to watch, not to mention he's only 22. Im not riding this guy telling you he's the next coming of sprewell but he is a baller and would probably be starting or getting strong minutes here in Ny. Balkma im sorry to say will never be a starter in this league but might be a viable role player off the bench. seriously i think with our old 2005 lineup "pre-jeffries" we'd be in the hunt.

Pg-Stephon, Nate, collins
Sg-Jamal, Qrich
Sf- Ariza, Balkman
Pf-Lee, Malik
C-Curry, Morris, JJ

looks a lot more balanced than what we are right now and not to mention we could've traded channing for a better deal then what we got. The only thing Zach and Francis have done is slow our "core" down and create conflict and confusion! any group when held long enough in there role will start to tun the corner but I feel that IT hasnt even given anyone a fair shot mostly curry and steph. This might be dolans dumass trying to speed up the winning process idk.

I loved Camby too, but the guy was always injured for us, he just had to go.

I agree but I also couldn't help but notice your avatar. It is nice. If there was anyway you could've gotten one with footage from idle hands it would be better. She was amazing in that movie.

I don't miss him, but I still scratch my head how we could give him up for Steve Francis...
Hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things. And no good thing ever dies...
