Seriously, is Nate capable of being a top guard in the NBA?

My personal belief (which has been the case since his rookie season) is that Nate is capable of being like Allen Iverson but with a better shooting percentage if he becomes a better point guard and increases his assist total.
Again, this is MY opinion, so please just write your opinions, agreements, disagreements with intelligent feedback as to why.

Nate will be very good, but never a star. If he had been anywhere from 6'4" to 6'6" he would have been one of the best guards in the league.

I question whether Nate will even be a consistent starter in the NBA, muchless an all-star or superstar.

How about Nate as a weak-link starter on a team in the NBA? There are plenty of starters who aren't All-stars.
Nate is likely to end up being a journeyman, bouncing around from one team to another during his career. He is very likeable, and generates a fanbase whereever he goes.

nate can be a pretty good 15 ppg scorer on a team. he must find a way to be just as energetic/effective on defense.
he'll never be a star.

Nope, but he definitely can be 6th man of the year. I just don't think he can be a championship team's starting pg, unless you have a Tim Duncan

A few positive things about Nate are a given:
He can ALWAYS get a shot off with his athleticism
He shoots at a good percentage.
Now, he doesn't play great D nor distribute the ball that well in a half court system, but if he is given shots he will score.
I would love to see a 5 or 10 game stretch where he got 20 - 25 shots a game. Now, if he doesn't play on both sides of the ball, then he is just another scorer...
edit - Just like to add, what can teams to do cover him? Get there smallest quickest guys to try? It isn't worth doubling him.

Maybe not 'top', but he's capable of being a very good guard in the NBA.
