Now I've thought about this since the day KG was traded to Boston; never commented on it because I thought it was silly; but my Co-worker (A HUGE BOSTON FAN of EVERY SPORT) said the same thing to me...
Mchale will eventually leave Minnesota & join Ainge in Boston in the front office. Where you can then say they were both responsible for putting the Celtics together...
Now I believe it more than ever; this was the master plan
Would this be far fetched? Mchale & Ainge

A master plan ? LOL
Why would McHale leave the Timberwolves ? He's been the GM there for the past 14 seasons. After the Joe Smith fiasco and then the lottery years, he's still trusted by the owner and remains the GM despite the poor records the past 3 seasons.
Now that he's rebuilding there are no great expectations coming from the fans. Now that KG is gone, McHale is running the show like he wants and nobody cares. Why would he leave the team now ???
Ridiculous. He has no reason to leave. I'm sorry but your idea is pretty stupid.
About the trade, obviously it was made thanks to the connections between old Celtics teammates but people are blowing things out of proportions. In terms of "friendly" deals, the Shaq trade was worse.
Pat Riley got Shaq for Brian Grant's albatross contract, Lamar Odom and Caron Butler. Pat Riley (GM of the Heat) was the head coach of the Lakers and Randy Pfund (assistant GM of the Heat) was an assistant coach in LA. It's obvious Riley got Shaq for a fair price because he knew very well the Lakers organization and their owner.
It's the same for Danny Ainge. He got KG at a decent price but let's not act like it was a rape. Ainge had to give up assets to get KG. KG was traded to the Eastern Conference. Let's not act like he was traded to a rival team within the division and capable of doing harm to the Wolves.
McHale didn't jettison KG. He obviously had a preference for the Celtics package but it doesn't mean he didn't consider the well being of his team. The Wolves got a decent package. I don't think lots of teams were ready to give a lot of youth for KG. Especially when KG specifically wanted to go to a team with a chance to win a championship in the next 2 or 3 seasons. Obviously most contending teams have veterans and low first round picks so therefore Boston was one of the rare teams to offer youth to the Wolves and at the same time a shot at a title for KG. It's a shame people tend to ignore that aspect of the trade.
This Ainge-McHale so called conspiracy is getting out of hand and blown out of proportions. Seriously how would McHale get credit if he joined the Celtics ? LOL More like he would be crushed by the medias and the fans.
That's ridiculous. It's Ainge who drafted the youth traded to Minnessota, it's Ainge who traded his lotto pick for Ray Allen in order to entice KG to accept a trade to Boston. McHale had nothing to do with that. And I don't get why he would leave his comfortable position in Minnessota to play second fiddle to Ainge in Boston. Makes no sense.
I don't get why people are so worked up with KG/McHale/Ainge while they didn't say a damn thing when Shaq was traded to Miami and Pat Riley.

He may not leave for Boston, but the state of Minnesota sure needs to kick him out of their borders. It's obvious to me he colluded with Ainge. TWolf fans should be just as upset about their situation as Knicks fans.
