Funny Hahn quote about Jamal and Nate

Post#1 » by Hardaway 10 » Sun Jan 13, 2008 5:31 pm

http://weblogs.newsday.com/sports/basketball/knicks/blog/2008/01/the_zach_attack_and_other_obse.html

Speaking of which, have you noticed how the Knicks manage to make the score respectable in the end of games after going down by 20 points or more? Against Toronto they were down by 19 early in the fourth when Isiah went to the old reliable catch-up game: Jamal Crawford at the top and everyone else clear it out. Thomas uses guys like David Lee and Renaldo Balkman to pogo-stick around the hoop for rebounds and loose balls.

Crawford and Nate Robinson thrive in garbage time. They break down defenders with one-on-one moves and score off pull-ups or kick outs. The And-1 Tour is alive and well at MSG.

It has become so much a recurring situation this season (and a lot of the time last season) and it's been actually quite successful that I felt compelled to ask Isiah if he'd ever considered starting the games with the toss-the-playbook-in-the-garbage/helter-skelter mentality.

"Yes," he said.

I don't find it funny at all. what is shows me is that nate and craw probably should start. I mean the writer is sort of taking pot shots and craw and nate for having to clean up the mess the startes made.. I find it kind of moronic...

Nate and craw thrive in garbage time? hell how can they help it when garbage time starts midway through the first quarter...?

i'm pretty sure crawford was a starter in the game and went something like 2-9 in the first quarter with 2 turnovers. he was as responsible as anyone that the first quarter was a disaster.

I am glad you are here b/c you are a great proponent of Crawford, who is a Kevin Durant type talent. Even your one word posts are gold, and so true. Here, you break down "exactly" how Crawford's stats aren't worthless or inflated. Thank you... thank you so much.

When Isiah first brought Nate and Lee in during the first quarter against the Raps....there was a stretch when Nate and Crawford were going off. The ball movement was amazing, Lee and Balk were getting in on the action too and it was some of the best basketball they played all season even though it was for that small stretch. They seemed real energized as if they wanted to prove to Isiah and the fans that they can play better without the two fatties clogging the lane. This also wasn't garbage time at all. Like I said it was the first quarter and if they hadn't come into the game, we would have been down by 20 before the first quarter ended.

bosh wasn't even shooting at a good percentage. the score was 17-4 cause we couldn't score. thanks to guys like q, zach & jc bricking shots. did you watch the game, or were your eyes glued to crawford's crotch ?

It is funny how bosh shooting a bad % didn't hold is team back from scoring 27pts in the first quarter, while you partly blame jamal for the knicks just managing 4 points early.... again, who are the main options on this team#1and #2? curry and zach.... but during that 17-4 run, crawford was 1-3...

with 2 turnovers. so he was responsible for 4 empty possesions. i'm not saying jamal was the only one playing bad but he was as guilty as anyone. your giving him a pass when he doesn't deserve one.

and after that 17-4 run. he went 1-5 for the rest of the quarter. does that sound like he was playing well.

2-0 Jamal Crawford bad pass (Jose Calderon steals)
2-2 Jamal Crawford misses 24-foot three point jumper
6-2 Jamal Crawford bad pass (Jamario Moon steals)
Jamario Moon makes driving layup
9-2 Jamal Crawford misses 25-foot three point jumper
10-4 Jamal Crawford makes 12-foot jumper (Stephon Marbury assists)
17-5 Jamal Crawford misses 25-foot three point jumper
17-7 Jamal Crawford makes 17-foot two point shot
21-9 Jamal Crawford misses 26-foot three point jumper
25-17 Jamal Crawford misses 5-foot jumper
27-17 Jamal Crawford misses 23-foot three point jumper

I am not giving him a pass. I am just agreeing with chitown that the knicks getting blitzed earlier had a lot to do with bosh and the inability of curry and zach to score and defend, than jamals performance....

Nate & Craw > the Knicks.

That ain't saying much.
