Bynum out 8 weeks as told by David Lee ?

Post#1 » by king_k4life » Mon Jan 14, 2008 9:12 pm

Wow

Damn he was having a great season too

:(

Andrew Bynum, a key factor in the Los Angeles Lakers' 25-11 start to the season, will miss eight weeks with what his agent says is a subluxation of his left kneecap.

David Lee told ESPN The Magazine's Sam Alipour that Bynum will not need surgery. Bynum, who had an MRI on Monday, will begin rehabiliation immediately, Lee said.

"He's already focusing on his rehab," Lee said Monday.

Bynum injured his knee early in the third quarter of Sunday night's 100-99 victory over the Memphis Grizzlies. A subluxation occurs when the kneecap is pulled toward the outside of the knee.

"It was pretty scary because it felt like my knee twisted all around. Luckily I'm all right," Bynum, who was wearing a heavy brace after the game, told The Los Angeles Times.

"I didn't hear any pops. I'm able to put weight on it and it doesn't really hurt. Just when I bend it, it hurts."

:o

I have subluxation of my left knee - it's basically when the knee dislocates and relocates itself. I don't know how serious his is, but it hurts like a bitch. The problem with knee subluxation is that it's likely to reoccur, even with rehabilitation, because it has something to do with the way your ligaments are aligned. My orthopaedist has it too and he has to continuously strengthen the muscles around his knee. Nick Collinson had shoulder subluxation and he missed a whole season after deciding to get surgery. Subluxating your knee is really scary though because it feels like your leg is about to snap and the floor is taken from underneath of you.

Isiah is a genius! This is why he picked Frye instead of Bynum.

Yes - I'm a close friend of Zeke's and when we last chatted he told me that he'd favored Frye over Bynum because he feared Bynum would suffer a knee "sub-lux-a-what-ever" by his 3rd year in the league.

Zeke is awesome.

He also told me that Sit-bury would likely come down with bone spurs in the next week.

Zeke is my best buddy.

He's David Lees Brother, but he lives in LA. He's 5'7" tall. All he does is talk. Nothing else. He is a good man though!

No wonder David Lee's a fan favorite. He's a multitasker. The quintessential New Yorker. More man love for Lee guys!

Anyways, I wish Bynum well. Though if this injury proves to be worse than it is, I'm glad we don't have him. It would be sad though. He's playing for a big contract and working his ass off only to get this setback from his development.
