If this Syracuse SF comes out, I'd think he would warrant serious consideration.
Here's his stat line so far...pretty darn impressive. Excellent 3-point shooter, rebounds well, purportedly a good defender, and converts free throws at a .750%

We have not had a an all-around SF with game and size since...Latrell was 6'5"-6'6", Bernard was 6'7", Xavier was 6'8". This kid is 6'10" (6'11" according to Syrcause web site). And from Baltimore, WIRE fans.
Like I said, if Rose is gone, he is my second choice.
A drop dead shooter is very much in our interest. We need EVERYTHING. A SF with this kind of inside and outside game would suit us just as well, maybe even better than the very talented SGs in the draft, and I would not turn my nose up at Buddinger, Gordon or Mayo. All drop dead outside shooters, but Greene gives you size and speed and length at the 3-spot.
He is averaging close to 19 and 8 and 2. Nice. Several 4-5 assist games, and blocks his share of shots.
He has some serious big East games coming up soon. Tell me what you think.

He's a chucker. I'm not a big fan of him. I watched him yesterday and he was very unimpressive. His upside is very good, but right now his shot selection is pretty terrible and his tools are being misused. He's pretty much a 6'10 guard without handles. As in he'd rather sit at the 3 point line instead of banging in the post like somebody of his size should.
His attitude is also a bit questionable. He comes from the Zach Randolph school of teamwork.

How many days till the deadline?
Thats how many days of hope we have left before Isiah destroys our franchise even more.

What are we doing here? Stockpiling more SF prospects to bench behind Q? I'm not saying they're better players....but we already have 2 young players at that position in Balk and Wilson that I like a lot. There are other positions we need to badly upgrade first. Hell we can even keep Jamal for now at SG....I'd rather get someone at PG and/or Center before anything else. If Rose isn't there, we should take Jordan IMO.
Rose/Nate
Crawford
Balkman/Chandler
Lee
Curry (ugh)
or
Nate
Crawford
Balkman/Chandler
Lee
Jordan
Either lineup would be a real nice start to rebuilding. Greene is redundant.
It's unlikely but....my dream scenario would be to somehow snag another top 15 pick...draft Rose and then hope Jordan falls to us with our second pick. How do we get another high pick though? I'd even be willing to take back a nasty contract to get it. If we picked up both of these guys in one draft, we'd be golden.

This is kinda short....but the longest one I can find of him at Texas A&M. One of the most recent ones. He is just sick though. I almost want him more than Rose.

redundant form the 3 position. Balkman is Nice but he cant shoot. I think need to get the best player here folks. We need a franchise player.

A clear-cut franchise player in the 2008 draft? Who? Please tell me who that is because I'm not buying it....yet. There are A LOT of very good pieces to add to a franchise but I do not see sure-thing franchise players. I'm not counting Rose, Mayo, or even Beasley for that matter. I'm old enough where I've seen young players in college/ entering the NBA with MORE fanfare than guys in this upcoming draft that eventually fell by the way side once the reached the next level. The list is TOO long...don't make me do it.

What is Beasley?
a scoring SF that will win rookie of the year, but never take his team past the first or 2nd round of the playoffs.
Derrick Rose is huge and fast, it is like drafting Calvin Johnson, if Calvin Johnson actually had a work ethic to get better as a WR, and not just look better in the gym.
